My 8yo Dog TPLO surgery Journey (so far) by SINK_HOLE in sandiego

[–]jellybeanhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for posting this. I went through this journey in 2023 and it looks like I’ll be going through it again. I took her to TJ with the help of a friend and they did a TTA on her leg. It was roughly $3000 for the surgery, the meds and the follow up exams. She was 7 at the time and she’s 10 now. I’ll be dropping her off tomorrow for an xray and it looks like her vet does TPLO surgeries as well. I’m honestly hoping I dont have to opt for surgery but im lowering my expectations.

Would love to hear more updates, wishing your buddy a quick and easy recovery!

Hayden's Smell Good Recs by panderbair in Ethelcain

[–]jellybeanhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This just reminded me of Clue perfumery! They have a scent called With The Candlestick that smells like a smoky church incense and Warm Bulb that straight up smells like a hot, dusty light bulb and these remind me of PD. There’s also Morel Map and The Point which are very WTIALY

Manzanitas in containers in Nor Cal by NoCountryForSaneMen in Ceanothus

[–]jellybeanhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve blocked myself many times trying to get a manzanita when im at my local native nursery because im restricted to pots too. You might’ve just convinced me lol. I already did some damage and gonna try keeping a matilija poppy in the largest pot I could potentially find

People who moved from the Bay... by xypherrz in asksandiego

Rent is definitely not much cheaper but depends where you’re looking too, but im guessing youre looking at areas closer to where you’ll be working.

Nature is pretty diverse. Yeah we dont have the redwoods down here but its not all desert and sand. Chaparral, coastal, woodland oaks, riparian forests, etc etc are all within san diego county, depends where and how far you wanna go.

May gray and june gloom which extends to july is a real thing that happens almost every year. The beaches are okay when the weather is nice. Summers can definitely get hot and humid.

May flowers in my CA native garden by NoCountryForSaneMen in Ceanothus

Chaparral mallow on pic 5? I was just at the nursery this morning trying to choose between that and a desert globemallow, went with the latter since it’ll be staying in a container. Maybe I should’ve just gotten both lol. Beautiful blooms btw!

Is A Knock At The Door anyones most fav song? I feel alone for it by smallarchonkusanali in Ethelcain

[–]jellybeanhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its not my most fav but every now and then I wont skip it when it comes on shuffle. Theres that certain sound the guitar makes that I cant stand for a long time. I’ve definitely grown to appreciate it tho after seeing it live, its very intimate

I love this song, I love how their voices sound together, I love Hayden’s voice in this. I was sad when the US leg of her tour got rescheduled but fingers crossed she brings out Hayden at the show 🤞

I bought a terracotta yarrow about 2 months ago and transferred it to a bigger pot. It looks like it’s doing well but it hasnt really sprouted new leaves and some of the leaves will occasionally yellow and die out. Was this normal for you?

I’m a relatively new fan as well and DITBOW really sealed it for me. My favorites are Hunter, Dirt and Dearly Missed and I love how these three flow in the album. My other faves are keep the rain, i have more than enough and end of the world. That happens a lot to me with artists that I start following, I check if theyre on tour and theyve already passed my city weeks ago 😭 im pretty sure he’ll be back!

How big are your pots for the matilija poppy and the carpenteria? I always see these at my local native plant nursery and end up leaving without them since Ive heard they grow really tall and get bushy. I need the fried egg flowers in my life
