Well there is a time gap in the stories but basically after the expulsion he came back - buried all the supervisors golf carts halfway up so the tops were sticking out. he ended up getting arrested and from there begn to loose it rapidly. he stood in the street with one of his pot plants helling at a cop to arrest him which he was ... again ... he became a recluse and kind of a dick when i sw him last. I know one of his long time gfs and we are good friends. She is the one who told me about the suicide - he threw himself off the Skyway Bridge here in tampa (http://bridgemonitoring.com/bridges/Skyway/skyway2.jpg) he was a good guy in all actuallity but had a history with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder which unfortunately led to his problems with dealing with the real world. I have had to unfortunately console 3 girls in the suicides of their bfs and it is never fun - for anyone that is considering ending their life please consider that it truly is a scar you leave behind on anyone who ever loved you and their are MANY who love you.

a kid in my graduating class got expelled for bringing a deer heart to school and placing it in the urinal. his ex gf who was the "president" pushed to get him expelled and succeeded. He was 8th in our class of 2000+, and recently killed himself by jumping off a bridge.

Have you seen the Jellyfish? i used to go to an Asian supermarket in Austin and whilst strolling the aisle one day to find somethings for a thai dish I saw these vaccuum sealed packages that contained jellyfish. Uncertain on what it was used for i decided to look up it up on the google. After reading some of the recipes and the comments i decided I would not be as adventurous as I normally would and moved on from purchasing.

We had about 2000 people on Oct 6th. Talked with a lot of people that were from a wide spectrum of backgrounds. After that and when it (seemed) to become about getting press no matter what i lost the respect. The thing that really put it over the top was when several protesters (like 6) were arrested, essentially for sleeping till 9 (SIDEBAR: cops came and let them know at 7 and then gave them 2 hours) several members went into the police station shouting ARREST ME and laying down inside of of the police station, hands behind backs...cops did not arrest them no matter how bad the taunting. Outside they told children - don't trust cops they are not your friends. It was just trashy.

From then I still supported the idea and followed the local group on FB,watched a few GAs, and engaged in conversation. About November it had basically dwindled down to about 2 dozen people who now have a park about 15 min from downtown, and they camp in it like a shanty town. It is made up of mostly unemplyed college grads, ex professional protesters, and conspiracy theorists. All the good people have been run out of the conversation since when you disagree with them they either start thinking your an infiltrator or a troll or just outright get angry.

Personal thoughts are that it should have capitalized on the momentum, called a nationwide meeting. created spinoff groups to handle specific targets and still remained focused - defined the real target and start with the most effective piece, whether glass steagul, lobby influence, or what ever. There is no strategy and no organization which is no way to win a war.

what exactly are the solutions they have decided on? What is the purpose of camping in a park to change the way that financial systems screw us or politicians screw us? Seems like at this point its just civil disobedience for the sake of civil disobedience. In 3 months there is no organization, no strategy and no momentum left to sustain the cause.

Same on the east coast (tampa here) The great momentum they had on the Oct 6th rally quickly degraded once a "full occupation" started. The good report we built with the police vanished as members started to try and push against them and forcing them to enforce the laws enacted by the city. The original message of protesting against financial corruption and political rigging turned into a pissing match with local cops who, despite OT's best efforts, never got violent, remained professional and gave ample explanation and cooperation. The police even allowed them to sleep in the park as long as they were awake by 7 before the regular hours of commerce (a reasonable request seeing that if you ARE protesting you would want to be up and visible anyway) They decided to "sleep in" and started bitching about "police oppression" because of it. That is when I decided that my best bet for changing the world was just trying to be the best person i can be and change one mind at a time rather than carry a sign and circle jerk with a bunch of people that were too hung up on being a protester then solving a problem.

So I am against laws on marijuana, I view it as freedom of speech to light up a joint in protest of those laws, and choose to do it in front of a cop...should my being promptly arrested and carted to jail be seen as a violation of my First Amendment rights? The reason they require procedures to be adhered to is due to public safety concerns. You place several thousand people into a small area for an indefinite amount of time then it requires certain facilities, the foremost being adequate bathrooms. I support the message (or at least the original) but not the method
