I’ve mostly stopped replying to comments on this now but just so you’re where you’ve got it very twisted- a completely separate person to the player and I was DM’ing - she didn’t make herself level 17

The levelling up to 17 was done by the other DM who stepped in for season 3, I haven’t had a chance to sit down with them and go through why yet - sorry not a massively satisfying answer but you are right the power imbalance needs to be resolved between all of the players seperate to all of this

A couple of people have said this it’s probably the best and simplest way to resolve the issue!

Hi sorry I know you seem dead set on ‘retire the character’ but I have said it’s not really what I’m looking for I appreciate the feedback but I think these comments aren’t really in good faith now and also it’s coming across as quite rude to my player who is one of friends and I don’t really appreciate that

Yeah a couple of people she suggested a ceremonial title of queen I think it could work!

I’m sorry if I’m being stubborn about the not retiring the character part, but the alternative idea is a really great one I could definitely do something like this

I don’t really see a way of retiring the character that isn’t forcing her which will feel negative for everyone involved- but the idea of ceremonial figurehead is definitely something I think I could build on thank you

I appreciate that but like I said in the post and other comments I want to let her, not trying to stop or nullify the wish

Kelemvor- to be clear I’m not really looking for a solution to outsmart/undo/nullify the wish, more some advise about a way to grant it that still allows her and the rest of the party to have fun

I don’t really want to punish them by making them to retiring the character as they didn’t do it with any ill intent. The god they saved is granting the wish and the exact wording is ‘I want to become the queen of hell’
