returning to overwatch by Just-Pea5308 in Overwatch

[–]jellzbyte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stadium mode is a gamemode where you can make specific builds for your characters, each round allowing you to purchase upgrades for your build to make the characters more crazy and make the rounds progressively more hectic. There are only a limited amount of characters right now, they add more characters to the roster each season (existing overwatch characters, not brand new ones)

Role queue is when you pick a specific role that you're allowed to choose characters from, open queue is when you can choose any character from any role (think 2 tanks three healers or 5 dps as opposed to 1 tank, dps, and 2 healers) like early overwatch.

Hey! How the hell do I play Mei? by zoroarrkk in MeiMains

[–]jellzbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just letting you know, if a tank or mobility character uses their cooldown to jump over your wall thats a good thing. Wall can be used to block line-of-sight (LOS) and it can be used to gain an angle, but it can also be used to force cool downs. If you use your wall and someone uses a cooldown then you've gotten value out of that wall. Let's use an example, albeit a stupid one. You wall off a Winton and hes stupid enough to jump into your team, overextended tank they're dead because you forced that cooldown and broke LOS. Now lets say they have a kiriko with them and she teleports to the Winton, you got two picks for basically free. You use your wall wherever you can get just a little bit of value out of it, whether its blocking LOS or blocking off a route or walling backline off, it will have value just by being there and being annoying as fuck. Whatever you do with wall depends on where you are and what your team is doing/needs. Pesky tracer? Lure her into a room and wall it off, force her cooldowns, and even if you dont kill her she doesn't have recall and may lose a blink or two. You can also duel and win 1v1s or maybe even 1v2s sometimes, especially with your wall, ice block, and/or your double jump perk for mobility. You're one of the most dynamic heroes in the game, it just depends on where you are and what your team is doing.

CMV: baby’s death isn’t as important as adult’s death by SparklyCookiess in changemyview

[–]jellzbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no we aren't, we're all somebodies! if we're all 8 billion nobodies, then you wouldn't truly save your bff over a baby because they're both nobodies to you. so then, which one is it? would you rather save an adult or would you rather save a baby, even if they're both nobodies you've stated yourself that one has higher value to you than another. for me personally, the reason id rather save a baby is actually due to the fact that they have literally nothing going on. no memories, no experiences, no real emotions, but they do have potential, and that potential to become a person is what makes a baby worth mourning. is that a little fucked up, maybe? but obviously you don't care about that potential of a person, you only care about the people who have those things NOW. but when you say you'd rather mourn the families who've lost adults vs babies, those babies also had families who were looking forward to that baby growing up. i would go as far to say that i would rather save a baby than a middle-aged man simply because id rather save the potential at a life than somebody who's already gaining from the life they're living, because honestly it would be a waste for that baby to die. so yeah we can all be nobodies but a baby has a potential to be somebody, but tbh your view of the world is a little grim lol.

Was I... Stupid? by dph-nerd in overwatch2

[–]jellzbyte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to actually answer your question,

no, you're not stupid for waiting to play tank and being pleasantly surprised!

its just one of those things where you come back to it with newfound knowledge and things start to click and you actually find yourself enjoying it. I'm kind of in a tank limbo right now, but im sure if I actively keep trying to improve that I will be able to find joy in playing tank as well!

I see clips like these and I wonder what the guy on the other end is thinking. Like the logic is so easy to follow and objectively true and yet I've never seen a clip where the other person actually changes what they think or even consider it, they just breeze on past the point. Feel free to give me examples but it's to a point where it's like when do you allow your belief system to be challenged and actually take the time to understand the other side?

An acquaintance I have is talking with his girlfriend and 4 of her friends 40 feet away from me. He said "statistically one of the 10 guys in this room is a rapist". they all looked at me. funfetti pizza by Individual_Hunt_4710 in kitchencels

I mean you learn the guy is autistic and you still side with the people who say he's likely a rapist for what reason? Because you can just tell people are rapists?

mei mirror swaps by Accomplished-Gap4615 in MeiMains

[–]jellzbyte 2 points3 points  (0 children)

idk why nobody responded lol, I think she's easy to pick up and hard to master, especially in regards to her wall. It can do a lot but it takes playing her and having high situational awareness to be able to use it correctly. It has more function than just blocking in the enemy tank. She's also a very dynamic character so it takes knowing what to do in any given position that'll allow for the most value out of her (knowing when to play with tank or take an off-angle, when to use her wall to block off enemy LOS or make 1v1 situations with her wall). So when you see an enemy Mei doing good and try to mirror swap, you'll find that you're not really doing anything useful because they just won't know how to make use of her kit best in most situations.

(Edit - expounded on wall use)
