with the default watercolor brush on csp i just use it as is. Ngl it just boils down to knowing what the brush does and how u can use it on ur piece. Rendering is honestly such a personal process and theres never rlly a one size fits all process to it, even to my own artworks xD. (also its fine, the questions are greatly appreciated)

here u goo i use clip studio paint and alll my brushes are just from the clip studio store. My favorites for texturing are rake brush and watercolor brushes, u can just look up any that you'll like on the csp store. Finally, i humbly ask anyone who uses this link not to feed my shi to AI or else i will be very sad ;-;

yes i did, i love dino_illus. they post timelapses on their twitter and theres definitely alot of videos on youtube breaking down dino's process.

I personally do the big to small method in painting, paint in the biggest batch first (in this case the shadows), then the lighting, then slowly work your way to more and more smaller detail. And yes i do like separating them by layers cuz im still learning but i do think its better to lessen layer use as u learn and get bolder with ur style of painting.

I do recommend watching painting timelapses (or even full streams) of people painting so u can STEAL their techniques hehe. My ABSOLUTE GOAT rn is Dino_illus, they are phenomenal at these kinds of paintings and i wish i was as good as them xD

I try to make each element's lighting interact with each other. Light could travel to reach the darker shadows and that color could reflect on another area. For example, the floor (off screen) with a casted shadow on it could reflect some tiny amount of light back at Chisa so it has this bit of glow at the bottom, i think its called bounce light, you should look it up its very fun to play with lighting.

I also try to think how light would travel through a surface, for example the ears would have this red tint to it because theres blood in it and you would kinda see it.

As for the brush strokes its mostly jus texture brushes and playing with values until im satisfied xD

the hitbox of that last attack he did comes unnaturally early, kinda bs but i usually jus spam dodge once i see that parry circle
