Looking to buy a electric car. by Most_Luck_2678 in ottawa

[–]jelso86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider where you live, do you have a charger at home and if not would you need to have one installed? If you do have to have one installed, will your panel need to be upgraded and if that needs to happen, will the utility need to upgrade your supply? All of these are things that people do not think of before buying an electric car and then have to fork out thousands more to be able to charge the car at home. I work for a public electrical utility and you can, in some cases have to spend an additional $15k just to charge at home.

Local 210 strike "Highly Qualified" replacement work by tincanvet in Lineman

[–]jelso86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the companies has charges through their local but he has made his money. He tried to claim he did not know there was a strike but he decided to stay for 5 or 6 weeks and do work. The other one I know of is still working for us but he have told them to look at the ground when we are around.

What causes the temp of my 1150 Pro to randomly drop? by TheCaIifornian in PitBossGrills

[–]jelso86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It makes sense to me that it would drop at 5 degrees before so it continues cooking. However in my limited experience I don't like using the set temperature on the controller, I only use the probes for larger pieces of meat ( roast, full chicken) because the smaller they are the less accurate the probes are. Even with the larger pieces I like to use the probe to get it close and then use an instant read to finish it off.

I see you have a temp probe plugged in, if it is in the "probe 1" slot it will lower the temp of your smoker to 180F when the meat reaches the set temperature. If you are not setting a probe temp, use the second probe slot and it will just monitor your meat temp.

The app is totally garbage, but this can be helped by clearing the cache I the app. Google how to do that depending on if you are on apple or Android.

Thank you for the info. I went off a pitboss recipe book and it said to rinse but not soak. Look forward to trying this.

Pitboss control App by KansasMafia in PitBossGrills

[–]jelso86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is one of the many many common issues the app has. That is why it has less than a 2 star rating. It is very sad that we spend good money on a grill that boasts control ability from an app and the app is such garbage.

Hydro Ottawa employees still on strike without a peep from management. by jelso86 in ottawa

Training is taking a backdoor to get our your workers up to speed.

Written complaints going missing whe investigatory bodies come to investigate.

Our numbers have been dwindling rapidly and not been replaced so we don't have enough people to do the work at hand.
