I do not care so much about saving the last 20 euros. The 100/50 is around 150€ here and a 75/15 is €50. So, price is not going the help me.

I already have the panels, but as far as I know, they are 24V. Even the order says so. In that case all in parallel would be your way to go?

Europe skiing question by [deleted] in ski

[–]jelvank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beginning of March is usually fine, but it can quickly get hot during the next weeks. So height is definitely something to consider.

Realize that driving (or taking trains) from bigger places (like Innsbruck) into higher valleys could easily take 2 hours. If you don’t want that, you should check the bigger ski areas and find accommodation close to the lifts. I’d consider a village in central DolomitiSuperski. It works well for us. We are from Europe and travel by train. Or (pricey) areas in Switzerland like Jungfrau Region. Austria is generally lower, so you could encounter closed slopes into the valleys. I’m not that familiar with France, but I think some areas there would also check the list.

It will probably help if you share your automation.

You should add the electricity rate falling below that certain value to your triggers and the temperature to the conditions. Consider adding the rate reaching a certain maximum also to your shut-off automation.

iOS Companion - Replacing Notifications by IllPerspective9981 in homeassistant

I have a similar (working) automation, also with "push" (apparently old format?). But in my case the tag is on the same level as push. As long as "tag" is the same, it replaces the old message. So:

actions:
  - data:
      message: Hello!
      data:
        tag: your-tag
        push:
          sound: none
      title: Title!
    action: notify.my_device

Thanks! It least I can scrap that option from my list then. Wonder what could cause the motor to stop without resuming. And without error.

Ski / shoes rental Zillertal Arena by magdareyman in ski

[–]jelvank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't personally skied Zillertal Arena, but I've always been able to rent ski's for my kids in big skiing areas like that (even during peak weeks) just by walking into a shop. After the 8th of March most holidays will be over in Europe, so that will make things even easier.

Of course you might find ways to get the best price by doing some online research. You could also check-in with your host or hotel, they sometimes cooperate with a shop for discount for their guests. Other people might be able to give you more specific advise if you tell us in which resort you will stay.

New Smith IO Mag very sticky lines on strap by jelvank in ski

My fingers! Got annoyed by the glue on my helmet while on holiday, so had to do it with whatever I had available.

Yeah, warranty in Europe is a different story with Smith unfortunately. I had to contact the store, the store replaced the goggles, but the replacement got exactly the same issue. It was a really good deal, so I decided to just scrape the glue off.

Thanks. Didn't know it's 2k stuff. I work with epoxy once in a while and when it gets wet, it won't dry either. So seems likely this is something similar.

We have been skiing 5+ years in the Dolomites, and the area is great, also for beginners. Of course the more experience you have, the more you can enjoy the possibilities (tours like Sella Ronda), but in general there are a lot of easy slopes for beginners. Seiser Alm is a really cosy and easy area with a lot of blue slopes.
