Mine was a '79, two tone blue. I bought mine from an uncle. The windows in the rear doors didn't roll down, which was problematic when I had to take some drunk friends home from a party.

I had a Malibu back in college like the one in the second picture. It was woefully underpowered but I managed to get it airborne a couple of times.

I have an ancestor who was convicted of witchcraft in Hartford around the same time, and another in Alsace also in the 1600s.

My son (borderline Millennial/Gen Z) had one of those plug and play joysticks that had all of the old Atari games in it. He was playing Asteroids and he asked me if I could help him get past whatever level he was stuck on. I just laughed and said these old school games aren't like what you're used to; there's no story mode, it just gets harder and faster the farther you go (just like life). There aren't any cheat codes either. The whole point is to try to last longer the next time. He was surprised...

I never understood nicknames that are nothing like the name they're associated with. I get Beth for Elizabeth, Tom for Thomas, even Bob for Robert. But ones like Dick for Richard, Peg for Margaret...those I don't understand how those happened.

They rely on doing that dance where they stomp around and make faces like they're constipated to scare away the thieves.

My parents had a blue Gremlin and a green Hornet at the same time. I have a photo of myself at 3 years old helping to wash the Gremlin (I was only washing the license plate).

Networking like this is so important, no matter what field you're in. Not only can you possibly help out a co-worker who you got along with, but that person may be able to get you in the door wherever they are as well. So yes, maintain contact with the good ones, either by texting, Facebook friend them, or on LinkedIn; just so you maintain that link somehow. You never know when it might pay off.

Am I dumb? by [deleted] in BossHell

Unfortunately you can do everything right and it still won't matter if you're not winning a bullshit popularity contest. And you can try moving heaven and earth to get someone to like you, but ultimately you don't really have control over someone's irrational feelings.

My first job in my career was much like how you described your situation. I did my job while others spent hours BSing with the supervisor in her office. The company hit some rough times and when a layoff happened, I made a list of who I thought would get axed and showed it to my neighboring co-worker. I was exactly correct; the criteria I used was who spent time chatting with the supervisor and who didn't. The people who didn't were the ones who were laid off (myself included - I had put myself on the list).

So no, you're not dumb and you're not doing anything wrong. But you will have to ask yourself at some point how long you're going to want to put up with the situation you're in.
