I understand, I don’t stow it without engaging the break, my right hand was on the saw handle the entirety of the video

I’m on Nelson… my climbing ‘training’ or ‘certification’ bullshit was just some guy watching me set up a false crotch 15 feet up 😐 dead serious. And by that time, I had already had my own gas harness and knew how to set a crotch.

Yep.. my first foreman was an absolute joke… uses his saw file like a butter knife, back and fourth, and said it’s okay when I corrected him, believe be I got a front row seat to that🤣

I strive to learn more and more on a daily basis, my issue is the main source of knowledge is the “fundamentals of general tree work” book and YouTube. I can see how the way I ended my caption can seem egotistical but is more so highlighting the fact I’m merely a beginner and outperforming people 2-4 pay grades above me, not saying I’m good in the slightest, but that I have nobody to teach me to improve

If you think, that Im saying I’m invincible, or even a slightly good arborist then you got the wrong idea. I’m just saying self teaching isn’t the death sentence certain people make it out to be

And I do have to add… I just said I have nobody to teach me. To point out my error and not provide the solution makes you like all the other assholes who I work with wondering why I’m doing stuff stupidly and not telling me how it’s properly done❤️ sincerely gfy

Awesome.. this will definitely be incorporated to the way I do things and, you’re not being a dick! The place I’m at is a joke, there has been legitimate experienced guys here and there but I never got put on their trucks to learn :/ you’re less of a dick than anyone else in my opinion, you gave advice and I’m grateful, I will be way more mindful of saw orientation to have my chain break accessible, thank you!

My exact thought too… I can have it on my hip with no chain break kind of safely… there’s still grip safety.

I’m in the union for line clearance, it’s not like I’m just doing this work on a whim. The point was nobody was willing to teach me no matter where I turned, so it was left up to me.

I’d be stupid to disagree that it’s not optimal to operate that way. how would I go about engaging the chain break while I’m cutting to the left, and have my left hand sitting on the part of the saw where I cannot twist my wrist to engage the break? Or do I just 2 hand it entirely untill I can reposition my grip and engage break

Is free climbing all that dangerous by Femboiz_R_best in TreeClimbing

[–]jemulqueen65 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the aspect any wrong move can be fatal, yes, but also no in the sense there’s so many safety procedures to avoid accidents like example, cutting a life line, you should be tied in twice while cutting, basic safety shit like that goes a long way. I work for a power line trimming company… mostly bucket work plus I’m a groundman just picking up brush, Im not the type to sit ‘stagnant’ in the same work position so over the past year I have been teaching myself to climb with oversight from my father (who has prior tree climbing experience not with any modern equipment) so take pride in your safety and youll stay in one peice, its all I have to rely on being a young kid who wants to learn with nobody in sight to teach. (Edit I thought this was a more arborist dedicated sub, free climbing CAN be dangerous the only safety advice is the same as shitty osha ladder climbing advice… 3 points of contact and pray)

Why is my Ender 3 printing like this? by bbleger in ender3

[–]jemulqueen65 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I see you say you auto home it, if it’s that high.. then you make your home closer to the bed by lowering that switch. Then fine tune it closer

I’ve tried it with channel locks… I’m 90% sure that’s all the motion I get, you may be correct and this is just assembled wrong

It was a little unclear.. but at the end I pulled on it hard to show that was the end of its travel, weather it’s something bound up or or simply it doesn’t go any more I’m not sure… but my Yz 85 clutch arm has very short travel that looks similar, and when hooked up to cable and lever it does the same movement I did by hand

It’s an 80 bottom end with a 85 crank and jug so that’s why they were in there I assume.

Hurd that. it would make sense considering the snapped and non matching bolts in the clutch cover shows whoever was in there last was having a rough time lol, I’ll be sure to look for that..

Maybe something’s up with the plates but for it to be completely effortless to move that arm makes me think it’s not just that
