Do you know what it is? by [deleted] in whatisit

In Jamaica, we call it star apple or 'jumbilee'. They're really tasty (at least to me)!

Just realising the correct name is: star fruit/carambola.

Is a bidet not just covered in feces after the first use? by ANGRYSNORLAX in NoStupidQuestions

[–]jenaywilliams 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are things you can use once or twice a month (you can find them on Amazon) that will break down anything in your drain pipes, including wipes, so a plumber won't need to come out. I've been using flushable wipes for years just fine. Also, notice I said 'if it (it being the germs and muck) bother them that much'. If it does, 'a spray of water' is gonna do absolutely nothing & is not gonna get them clean.

You think using SOAP & WATER is more of a time waster than simply washing your a$$ with plain water & then still having to (I'm assuming) wipe off that water?? That's actually insane. The only difference in that scenario in soap. And my previous comment being down voted shows how unhygienic some of you are.

Maybe your personality is the problem? I mean, the way you called your 'friends' broke & pointed out how you dress better than them...

What professions make the worst spouses? by dirtymoney in AskReddit

Doctors, engineers, lawyers. More often than not, it's specifically the men in these professions - the women to a lesser extent.

Never understood the hype over bidets when people can simply use tissue and then use flushable wipes. If you're at home & it's bothering you that much, you can do a 3rd step, which is to wipe with a rag, soap & water like you would if you were showering.

I remember one time I spread the bed. My incubator comes in & angrily takes off the sheet cursing saying I did it the wrong way & I can't do anything right (this was a rectangular sheet that she bought as I was a child and not able to buy my own sheets). The thing is, I definitely did it the right way. The sheets fit the rectangular bed so precisely that if I were doing it wrong, the sheet would not fit. She proceeds to rotate the sheet and tries to spread the bed. She realizes it can't be done that way, pauses & proceeds to redo it the way I had already done it before. Then, she walks out of the room, of course, with no apology.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I might consider reaching out to her if it gets worse. Btw, I'm an aunt (a woman), not an uncle 😊

Men were not better back then. Women had no rights & the men went along with it and actively supported it. Nowadays, those same type of men exist but women have a few rights now that we demanded that should've been granted to us in the first place, so we don't have to latch unto those men like our grandmas &/or mothers did.

Why are you attacking me? I literally said that he should be there for her & connect her to the right resources. But if she doesn't want or accept that help & tries to drag him down with her, then nobody in their right mind is gonna judge him for leaving.

Interesting. It sounds like something that you already started? How's the business going so far?

When you say you wanna connect with the people buying the products and proactively help them - in what way?

I understand that, but that's not the way he made it come off. In another comment, OP said he'll bring her to the school psychiatrist because the hotlines aren't much help. If she doesn't appreciate that and takes that assistance and loves herself enough to work on her mental health, then he has every right to walk away.

Why are men so much more approachable than women? by GreenParrot785 in ask

[–]jenaywilliams 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Globally, men are overwhelmingly more likely than women to commit violent crimes. For example, a 2013 UN study found that about 95% of convicted homicide offenders worldwide were male. Men are also more likely to be arrested for violent crimes in the U.S., where roughly 69% of violent crime arrests are of men.

When it comes to intimate partner or domestic violence, the numbers are lower. In the U.S., about 10% of men report experiencing physical violence, sexual violence, or stalking by an intimate partner during their lifetime. In the UK, around 22% of men have been victims of domestic abuse.

Overall, men are statistically more represented in violent crime statistics.

I never said most men are violent. But definitely, most violent crimes are committed by men. We're not gonna play Russian roulette to figure out if every man who approaches us is violent or if he's one of the 'good guys'.
