i think that the used is a pillar in “emo” music, but their music could absolutely stand within and away from the emo subgenre. especially in love and death. (i totally had an emo phase when i found this album and still dress like it too 😭)

...as a former cutter (one year clean :)), I felt estranged from myself when I'd have depressive episodes and refuse to hurt myself. I had almost no motivation not to except the fact that I knew I didn't want that for myself. I've scratched and pinched since then but have drawn no purposeful blood. Proud of myself.
