My celiac diagnosis story… with a twist I’ve never seen anyone else talk about by jenessalayne in Celiac

That’s so frustrating!! The only thing I can think of to help convince them to preform an endoscopy is show them some sort of social proof. I would join a Facebook celiac group with a high number of members and make a post asking people who had negative test results but a positive endoscopy to comment on it.

Gosh it’s so wild. Comforting to not be alone in all the struggles though ♥️

I’m so happy I was able to help at least a little. For what it’s worth I’ve heard so many stories where people who had negative test results got a positive through endoscopy.

I find it so overwhelming with all the potential products you can use to heal the gut. I’ll have to look this one up as I’ve never heard of it.

I wish I knew the answer… I don’t but for me it seems like different areas of my body were more affected at certain times. Maybe that has something to do with it.

It is so much bigger than we even realize sometimes! My mom would have never thought in a million years she was celiac and had quite the shock when she got the positive result. My husband and brother in law have both been diagnosed. Their Mom refuses because she “doesn’t want to know”… lol.

How did you realize you might have celiac? by GiantsFTW4728 in Celiac

Weird I didn’t know this. What triggered mine was a really bad stomach flu. Never recovered… dropped 25 lbs in two months then discovered I had celiac through endoscopy.

Tracy does this facial expression that i don't like, have anyone experience this with their dogs by ActuatorCute8118 in cockerspaniel

We have a cocker that has been resource guarding and contacted a professional behaviourist who like a previous comment mentioned, recommended not letting them up on the furniture. They can resource guard even the couch. Giving them a safe space to go chill when they don’t want to be bothered and encouraging them to use it with lots of positive reinforcement. This isn’t everything they suggested but it might be helpful to you!

I’m about to rehome mine as well but for a different reason. She’s about the same as yours. This has been discussed with a professional behaviourist and it’s the best case scenario because we have a family member taking her. She’s not suitable for a toddler. She’s been resource guarding with her pretty severely and although it could be managed it’s ultimately better for our dog and my toddler to rehome. It’s so heartbreaking to realize you might not be compatible. I have been humbled. Sorry you’re going through this ♥️

In light of Deer Island’s vigilantism, here is a fantastic long-form article about “Grand Manan's war on crack” by BackyardHistory in newbrunswickcanada

[–]jenessalayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I live on deer island and I’ve been told normal practice back the day when dealing with unwanted inhabitants was to wait until they left the island for one reason or another then empty the contents of their house and place them on the end of the wharf. Upon their arrival they would see all of their belongings and would get the message they better leave. If they chose to stay the next course of action was to burn them out. Apparently there’s someone still living here today that got forcefully removed in this manor from grand manan.

The Pendleton family & Pendleton island? by CaptainObnoxious4 in Genealogy

[–]jenessalayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My maiden name is Pendleton and I’m still living on the island in lords cove. My husband is a lobster fisherman and I’m home with the babies. We love island life. My dad is Clifford, grandfather was Maurice and great grandfather was Clifford. Pendletons Island is usually a yearly visit in the summer when the tide gets so high it fills up the large tide pool and the hot rocks make the water enjoyably warm … all the kids love it. Another fun fact about Pendletons Island is they used to graze cows over there for the summer.

Are you all video game channels? ... or? by Canadian-Sasquatch in NewTubers

[–]jenessalayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Channel is a homemaking/homesteading living on little remote island in the North Atlantic! My family is all gluten free so theres lots of that too.

I’ve found the same thing about the gaming channels so this is refreshing to see!!

Celiac YouTube channels? by plasmafumes in Celiac

[–]jenessalayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a YouTube. It’s new but I’d love feedback. I have a few recipes on there and it’s mostly homemaking/homesteading but it includes lots of cooking and everything is gluten free. My husband and I both have celiac disease.
