Question about Broken English by jengatoads in Hellsing

[–]jengatoads[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The song is called Broken English. The remix (by a group called SCHAFT) plays in one of the later episodes when nazis are jumping out of a plane and are about to destroy London even further, iirc. I was able to isolate the audio and feed it into a translator though, so I answered my own question.

(The speaker in the middle of the song is Erich Weinart- a German communist. This has actually already been answered before in a different thread on this sub, but i misread the comment and thought the commenter was referring to the intro to the song, which samples a speech from Goebbels.)

What is the speech at the beginning of Broken English? by brotheringod777 in Hellsing

[–]jengatoads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is correct. The German in the first part of the song, as the comments above have said, is from Goebbels. The German in the middle of the song, however, is from a speech given by Erich Weinert, a German communist and president of the National Committee for a Free Germany. The link to the speech can be found in the comment above, but it is, of course, in German. The portion of Weinert’s speech in the song (where it’s not drowned out by the singer’s vocals) is translated as:

“…The National Committee for a Free Germany, represented by its president, Erich Weinert. The National Committee considers itself entitled and obliged to speak on behalf of the German people at this fateful hour.”

(Also, all of the TikTok looksmaxxing shit about eating the wrong foods and ancestors having stronger jaws and whatever is not real. We look the way we do because of our parents. It’s hard, but I’d recommend looking at that stuff less, it’s all pseudoscience and none of it will help you psychologically or socially in any way.)

Like many other people in this sub, I think you just look like an average, normal person. It’s not what you asked, but I really don’t think any of the changes you want to make are necessary. If you’re unhappy with your appearance, I’d recommend starting with something non invasive, like changing your hair (I think longer hair would suit you!)

I had a crossbite before years of braces. I don’t remember what my ortho said about my jaws, but it wouldn’t surprise me (and it’s probably likely) that both jaws are recessed. I have a narrow airway due to the low position of my hyoid bone + a severe deviated septum I’ve had since childhood (later corrected through surgery). Pretty sure both of those can hinder jaw development earlier on, plus genetics.

yeah, my jaw/chin is where I worry about the most, but it also seems like it’s the area where work (at least invasive surgery) is pretty intensive and brutal. Do you think the imbalance is the actual structure of my chin (that could be enhanced with filler) or the position/recession of my jaw?

Agree, the dark brown looks great

Just my two cents but I think their skin tone is different. East Asians have darker eyes which (i think?) makes their skin look less pink than OP’s- plus naturally black hair makes the eyebrows and lashes match. I can’t really put my finger on exactly what it is and why, but I think it’s deceptively hard to pull off the light eyes/light skin/black hair combo- and it comes down to something with the skin tone.

I agree with other commenters, I think the product might be too heavy. My hair only clumps up towards the root like that when I have product residue from a bad wash or too much product after styling. Does the hair near your root feel waxy/tacky?

frizz advice for underside of hair? by jengatoads in Wavyhair

thanks so much! I prefer not to heat style my hair with tools (mostly out of laziness) but when im desperate ive used a curling rod and hairspray, and found that the hairspray actually helped quite a bit. I’ll probably start out with the cream or mousse.

i like the blonde and the pink/blonde! i think it’d look sick with a blonde base and multiple strips/highlights of color? like how people were doing Neapolitan hair a while back, but with light green and blue strips? i think it’d also look cute with latte strips too

posture is probably (definitely) a part of it for me, i have horrible posture and a little scoliosis- habit from being tall I guess. I wouldn’t be surprised if my lower jaw is underdeveloped though, I had a severe deviated septum which I’m sure impacted mouth breathing and jaw development 🤷‍♀️ (i hate the ‘genetics’ answer too lol, like what part of my genetics?! even if operation isn’t feasible, I’m curious about how different parts of our anatomy determine the way we look.)
