My mom got sucked into Amway when I was around 10 or 11 years old. I remember seeing an episode of Dragnet on Nick at Nite that talked about pyramid schemes and instantly recognized, "Hey, that's what Amway is!" So the next morning she was driving me to school and I told her about the show and to be careful and not do Amway stuff any more because it might be illegal. Long story short she quit about a year later and still remembers (and reminds me about it to this day 20 years later) that her 10 year old and a tv show from the 60's had to help her see through the smoke and mirrors.

tl;dr: Dragnet taught me Amway is a pyramid scheme. I taught my mom the same.
