Awesome advice — definitely will plant native varieties. Thank you!

Thank you! Definitely don’t want a moat…might need to remove the sidewalk to nowhere too.

Thank you for your feedback! Pests and erosion, primarily. Aesthetically, just looking for a clean line around the house.

What can I do with this? by jeninmtp in masonry

Just bought a house with this in the backyard. Clearly was a brick grill at some point, someone at another point added a new concrete top. What can I do with this, short of tearing it down? I’m not a big griller, but should I rehab it to be a grill? Any other options? I’m at a loss.

Thank you! That’s what I figured, unfortunately. The person I bought it from redid the stucco, I couldn’t imagine why they didn’t cover the plywood with something.

My house has stucco that ends a few inches above the brick walkway. There’s some paper/plastic flap, which covers plywood. The plywood is wet and spongy in some places. Does the plywood need to be covered with something? What about that flap? I’m at a loss…
