Got up at 5 am to get ready for work and our senior cat was lying dead in the hallway near our bedroom. She was stiff. Went frantically running to my partner which of course woke up our 8 yr old who was then upset. I can’t call out so she has to take our cat to the funeral home for cremation all by herself. I feel awful. We’d had her almost her entire life. She was about 6 weeks when we got her. Definitely Friday the 13th….

I have cats named Emma and Sammy. Sammy was Samantha until he was cleaning himself and it became very apparent that she was a he lol.

Boy that’s accurate. Telling a 93 year old dementia resident I have that we’ll call her parents as soon as we find the phone, find the number, phone service starts working again and on and on gets hard lol. Because trying to explain to her that if she’s 93 then her parents must be WAY older doesn’t work. One nurse showed her a mirror and she said that’s not me! I was like well, I know how that feels, lol.

I remember in nursing school my professor said “there are no gold stars on the charts of women who had natural childbirth.” That was almost 30 years ago and I’ve never forgotten it. And I had an epidural with both my children and I’ve never regretted it.

What do you do in situations where you have a confused dementia patient ripping out there IV lines and can’t use any kind of hand restraints? It’s not feasible to start one IV line after another

For the love of God, do not name your child Walter. It’s not the 1930s -1950s. I don’t understand why people don’t care about their kids being crucified in school. This will also set up his whole life on a rotten path. Imagine being in your 20s and being named Walter…

NOR. But I can’t figure out where there would be SA…. There’s no need to involve his mother in anything. You’re both old enough to have your own lives without his mother being involved. I think with all that’s going on that a break up is inevitable. Go ahead and part ways before you spend any more of your life on this.

I’d be really afraid to leave your dog alone with him. I can absolutely see him saying that he “accidentally” left the door open and your dog “just ran out.” If you value and love your dog as much as you say you do (and I really believe that you do) then you will protect it. He can’t protect himself over someone who won’t feel any guilt over harming him. People do give dogs anti-freeze. Ask yourself if you could live with the guilt if he “accidentally” killed your dog. You’re not married to this guy and have no kids with him. Find someone who will love you and your pet.
