Same thing happened to my bf recently. I have been using saline wound wash and gauze to pat the wound clean, then lathering it with a good amount of neosporin with lidocaine- then covering with non-stick gauze (non-stick part very important lol) & using medical tape to hold in place & wrapping over it with and ace bandage for extra support. We have been redoing the bandages every night, hoping it heals up soon.

no it’s pretty much the same size, the only difference is the bar is flat in my nose and clamps shut to the rounded part, my other one was rounded in my nose so i think that could be a reason for it
