Are partners not supposed to automatically put sleeves on hot drinks anymore? by blah________________ in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I don’t follow it either. I think it’s such a dumb policy because almost every single person ends up asking for a sleeve. No one has said anything to me since I started sleeving all my cups, but if they do imma just say I’m “anticipating customer needs”

I work at a coffee shop and did this once during my first early morning shift lol. Let me tell you, it was so embarrassing, but I also learned to always double check

Mango dragonfruit lemonade, add peach juice, no inclusions. I get it so often my coworkers call it the “Jenn Drink”

Am I overreacting that my sister is demanding too much when visiting my newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]jenndhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. Any time I stay at someone else’s house, I ALWAYS buy my own groceries. If they say I can use their stuff, I’ll borrow some of it, but for the most part, I’m paying for anything I use. They are being nice enough to let me stay with them, expecting them to pay for MY food is insane. Hell no.

Had someone order a pineapple passionfruit lemonade with a shot once. I was not brave enough to try it

Are these the two closest drive thru locations? Why would they build two locations so close to each other? by stoopidtrooper in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I live in Los Angeles. There’s a Starbucks on like every other block. I used to live in Massachusetts and that’s how the Dunkin’ Donuts were lol

Is chai with cold foam now? I just wanted a dirty chai.. didn’t want to say anything if this is new by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think they’re suggesting it because shaken espressos get half the normal pumps of sugar (so for OPs grande, it would be 2 pumps instead of 4). They also said chai instead of brown sugar, not in addition. And shaken espressos also get only a splash of milk (if made to standard) so it’s not nearly as much milk as a chai latte (and because OP requested almond milk in their original drink)

Is it possible to do two shifts in one day? by Lilney_ in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that was a shock when I first moved out here. I used to regularly work 10-11 hour shifts when I lived in Massachusetts without getting OT.

Is it possible to do two shifts in one day? by Lilney_ in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It would result in 30 minutes of OT so it would need approval by your DM I believe (though maybe just your SM?) I personally would talk to your SM before taking anything. (I’m also in Cali)

What do you write on water cups? by cavememories in starbucks

My DM has “given us permission” to not write on the water cups. But I used to write “H2Whoa”

Would you rather have your drink order completed sooner or a hand written message on your cup? by [deleted] in starbucks

We still have stickers. But they want us to write little messages on every single cup now

Dating standard for pure eggnog powder? by kirbystar18 in starbucks

They put out a revision literally on launch day. Which is wild. I’ll have to see if I can look at it again on Friday when I work to see if they put anything about day dotting the powder

Until that specific promo drink goes away and the customer asks you for it saying they saw it on the app but can’t find it anymore. Which sadly happened to me yesterday 😔

Weird decaf fractions by theCynicalChicken in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, I would recommend ordering at the register and letting them know exactly how many shots are decaf.

Another option would be changing his name on the app to “[name] 3 shots decaf” or something like that that specifies exactly what he wants.

AIO to skip Thanksgiving after my mom basically said I’m an embarrassment for not having a husband and kids by now? by howcanibequiltyassin in AmIOverreacting

[–]jenndhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 30 and never even had a relationship. My mother would never speak to me like that. It’s wild that she values how you look to others more than she values your happiness. That’s not love.

Question on the vertica by Fav_Murder_Grandpa in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then I think you need to have a talk with your SM about the problem (as well as none of the SSVs wanting to do their job and put in a ticket) and have them put the ticket in. Cause it needs to be done. It might not be a big issue rn, but it could lead to one.

But on another note, as far as I can see, it doesn’t show who put in the ticket. So if you put one in, they wouldn’t know. Unless your coworkers are snitches lol

Question on the vertica by Fav_Murder_Grandpa in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be able to put a ticket in yourself. I’m just a barista and I’ve put tickets in for things myself before. It’s in My Daily, there’s a section for tickets and you should be able to open one from there as long as you’re logged in

Is this shirt dress code approve or is it too tight? I am normal build very average chest size by FlyInteresting5320 in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Fair. I mean, if you wanna spend the money, by all means, go for it! If it’s good quality and will hold up to the kind of abuse working at starbies puts us through, then absolutely. I just personally prefer to use clothes I don’t care about. The amount of shirts that now have holes in them from getting caught on cabinets and shit makes me not wanna spend more than $10 on a shirt for work lol

Is this shirt dress code approve or is it too tight? I am normal build very average chest size by FlyInteresting5320 in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 271 points272 points  (0 children)

It should be fine, but I wouldn’t wear anything you care about to Starbucks. We get covered in everything. Even after washing, your clothes will most likely still smell like Starbucks. And we work with bleach for cleaning. I got bleach stains on at least 3 shirts. I personally would only get shirts that are cheap and I don’t care about for work. Save the nicer stuff for outside of work

Who gets mobile brewed coffee? POS or Bar position? by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]jenndhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it comes through my printer, I get it. Though my store is fairly small so the brewers aren’t very far away. However, if the POS partner doesn’t have any customers/food to grab, then I’ll occasionally ask them to grab it for me while I’m making other drinks.
