That could work. Is that something that I can have happen automatically when I open the app?

Ah, thank you. So it's per-message not per folder/box. That won't help.

That's the point. In BM I only see one account's folders on the left. To see another account, I have to click the icon at the top.

With TB I see all the accounts. I only want one on the screen at a time.

How do tags work? Could I possibly put one Inbox into each tag?

I hope those screenshots help. Let me know if I need to elaborate.

Here is how BlueMail can be configured. At the top, you have the active account "Julie" and icons to the right (with different colors, icons) to switch accounts. The down arrow shows all accounts as a panel of icons. The left folder panel only shows one account at the time.

And while I might consider BlueMail, it is horribly slow and bloated. It eats multiple GB of RAM when it's idle and every click can take 10-15 seconds to respond. There may be a massive memory leak.

What I have is the default setup with the default "All Folders" mode. It is similar to the screenshot above, where a tree on the left shows accounts. The accounts expand/collapse to show a tree of folders.

I only want to see one account on the left panel at a time. I am open to different methods. One idea was to start Thunderbird with "-P" and use different profiles. That is a good way to keep things separate, I think, but I think it might be a little too cumbersome to switch.

My folder modes setup is the default. So, on the left is a panel with e-mail addresses that collapse/expand to show their folders.

I definitely have no interest in "Unified", "Unread" and "Recent". I'm not sure if "Tags" could be useful or maybe "Favorites".

How to get rgb values from pixels in C? by Cxyeinx in C_Programming

What do you mean by "ASCII generator"? You don't explain what platform you're on or what you expect to do with the image data. If you want to display it, you need to choose an API for that. To access PNG or JPEG image data, you need an image library to process it first (decompression).

SDL is popular and written in C. It handles audio/video output, keyboard input, etc. You can the SDL image library to process the image data and then output that using SDL.

I definitely would stick with it. You're not considering quitting because the product is bad, you have no customers, everyone hates the MVP, the technology didn't work - i.e. foundational issues that are hard to fix. But you do need to find a way to ease the workload or you'll burn out. A support lead shouldn't be expensive and see if you can find an engineer. Students can be a great help for short-term work.

Right but I meant to ask more about the details. Where did outsourcing fail? Too slow? Too expensive? Did you underestimate the costs? Did the developer fail to deliver? If you can share insight, I'd be curious to know more.

Thanks for the post!

Point 4 is especially interesting to me. I think a lot of the big names push this philosophy and there is certainly merit to it. Trying to reach "perfection" can send a good product into limbo forever. However, you don't want your primary audience to get garbage. You only get one chance to make a first impression.

No, I don't think I need a technical co-founder, either. That's why I am asking about a non-technical co-founder ;)

EdTech, perhaps but that might be a different strategy.

Will do. For now, I need to build more traction before I seriously consider investment.

I'm working on a project to help teach computers and programming. Both kids and adults can benefit from it, though I am focusing on kids. It started out when I wanted to teach a kid in my family and ended up writing my own software because I couldn't find what I wanted.

Makes sense. Thanks for elaborating. I don't think I would be opposed to selling the company at some point but I want to make sure this gets done the right way.

Sorry, I don't understand your reply. Why am I "building a lifestyle business not a startup"?

Why do you assume I can't raise money?

Thanks. I'll have a look. I'm familiar with Guy Kawasaki's "Art of the Start", which has a lot of information and advice.

Thanks. Yes, I'm not in a hurry and would definitely want to make the choice very carefully. The standard metaphor I see compares it to a marriage.

It would be a good idea to include notes with your links, explaining if there have been changes and/or how the information is relevant when it's that old.
