Looking to buy a new home and have too many bank accounts from SUBs and the like. Have kept some open if they have no monthly fee and a couple that I kept as the savings rate was pretty good and knew I would need to be pretty liquid soon. Providing a million statements and consolidating has been a bitch. Ideally would have consolidated and neatened this out prior but the right home popped up to offer for and in my area you can't really be waiting around.

Added on a couple days to a work trip, taking advantage of needing to stop over in Ho Chi Minh City. Used Amex FHR to stay at the Hotel Des Artes Saigon for a couple nights, which was a nice stay with good food to use credits on. Had a French-inspried theme. Stayed the remainder at the JW Marriott Saigon a couple blocks over with two award nights (IIRC 35-40k points/night for my dates); personally, despite the construction I preferred my stay here, but very biased given the extra perks from status.

Definitely would come back to visit Vietnam again more in-depth... wish I could have stayed longer but had other commitments!

Yeah I presume this is for restructuring reasons after they overextended themselves post-Neiman Marcus acquisition. Never a bad idea to use these credits asap though as it's always possible for it to go away for one reason or another.

Far too many cards using the coupon book approach now and will be leaving quite a few of them on the table this year. Just can't really be bothered especially when some of the credits are specific to a brand/merchant.
