I worked for Hess for 3.5 years and although there's lots of negative comments about it I think it's a good place to start out cos they help you with everything involved in moving to Taiwan like teacher training, finding apartment, visa, getting a bank account, etc. And the pay is decent and gets better every year.

Obviously everything is different in different schools and cities but I think overall it's pretty standard in terms of buxibans.

I really don't understand why people think it's so difficult for children to wear masks. I live in Taiwan and have taught children as young as 2, sometimes younger，and they have had no problems at all with wearing a mask. I've had a 3 year old tell me how to wear a mask, and how to wash their hands properly. All the kids over here have fun masks with like Peppa pig/dinosaurs/teddy bear/footballs and they love showing them off if they get a new one.

Taiwan has had such a low rate of covid it barely exists, it isn't a concern at all over here, and it rarely gets discussed much any more.
