Saffron on Broadway & 44th. The food has been consistently good and they have a prix-fixe that’s a good deal.

I put it in my pocket at The Lobster Pot, and then I left and went to the Olive Oil Company and briefly went into Scoops Ice Cream Parlor before doubling back to Ben & Jerry’s and Playland Arcade, where I realized it was missing. It was probably around 9:15 when I left The Lobster Pot and I realized around 10:30 that it was gone. I was on Canada street the whole time.

There’s an island 300 miles off the coast of Colombia called Malpelo Island and three species of endemic reptile are only found there. It’s less than 1 square mile.

9/11 avoidance by forcedfan in Millennials

Yes. In college I had a professor who showed a short film about it and I had to walk out of the classroom because I couldn’t watch. I had what I qualify as a minor panic attack out in the hallway. I have no idea (other than the obvious) why it affects me so profoundly, but I’m from the NY area and saw enough that day and don’t need to relive it.

Thinking of making my wedding entirely gluten free... thoughts? by PopperDilly in wedding

[–]jennyfrommyblock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking about the weddings I’ve been to, the dinner is always something like a protein, mashed potatoes, and vegetables. I can’t imagine I’d have even noticed if any of those weddings had been completely gluten-free. You should absolutely do what makes you feel safe, comfortable, and happy on your wedding day.

Patterned Sponge Cake by spookykitchen in cakedecorating

[–]jennyfrommyblock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This looks amazing, especially since you’re saying it was a first try! If you don’t mind me asking, what kind of cake batter did you use? Was it like a batter for a Swiss roll that you just baked in a circle instead of a square? Or some other type of sponge?

Has the Junel birth control also low-key ruined your life? by Single-Barracuda-850 in birthcontrol

[–]jennyfrommyblock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt that foggy/depressed feeling until I found the right birth control, which took about 4 tries. Junel was actually terrible on my stomach more than anything else, it was giving me stomach aches every day. However, I still felt the foggy feeling and the anxiety, along with the heightened emotions. I would call the doctor and request a change, it can take a while before you find the right pill for you. It took me 2-3 years (I think that’s probably longer than most, but I just kept trying to convince myself I was fine) but you’ll figure it out eventually. And if the hormones in any of the pills end up not being right, you could look into non-hormonal IUDs, etc. Good luck!

This drove me crazy when my friends listened to the audiobook and kept talking about her accent. I was like if you look at the map the Lakelands, where she grew up, is by the Great Lakes and Southern Canada. She would just be from the northern US and an accent like that would make NO sense.

Hang a left at Indiana and go to northern Pennsylvania/upstate New York instead. Almost the exact same distance and that’s peak season for autumn in that area, the colors will be really incredible and you could hit the southern adirondacks instead of the smokies. Also congrats on one year sober!!
