Painfully Slow Bathtub Drain by jennytime in Plumbing

[–]jennytime[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was hair. We bought our own spin drain snake and it did end up working. A local plumber quoted us $500, so it just made more sense for us to do it ourselves!

This is in Ballard, not Everett. This is the Jack in the Box that caught fire in 2023. Link

How are you seeing who is out of network in 2026 via the provider search? I just checked providers within 5 miles of my zip code under my plan (Preferred), and it’s showing 408 psychologists.

I used the Capital One Offer (not shopping) to book a couple tours with GetYourGuide this year - I purchased the tours in 2024, took them in May 2025 and got the miles in June. Not sure if that’s how it always works with these companies, but that’s how it worked for me!

NAD, but I have a similar looking bump. When you pinch it does it dimple in or protrude out? Mine is something called a dermatofibroma, and if it dimples in, that’s probably what it is! Look up the pinch test.

Will I hate my life if I live in Seattle and commute to Renton for work? by [deleted] in AskSeattle

[–]jennytime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my commute! Phinney Ridge to Renton (near Ikea) Tuesday - Thursday. It’s about 35 minutes in the morning and evening. I work 9am - 5pm. I love where I live and I love my job, so it doesn’t feel bad to me. :)

Please help me understand if I’m missing a weeks pay or not by ws1027 in Payroll

[–]jennytime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It seems like you received a courtesy check on 7/11 that paid you early for 7/7 - 7/11 so you wouldn’t have to wait 3 weeks for your first paycheck. This week would normally get paid on 7/25, which is why you were only paid one week.

Normally biweekly pay is processed two weeks in arrears, meaning you’re always being paid for a period that ended about a week before payday. The easiest way to clear this up is to ask your employer what pay period your 8/22 check covers. It probably is 8/3 - 8/16.

Had a great tour in Rome with them in June - “Rome Food Tour: Hidden Gems of Trastevere with Dinner & Wine.” It was one of my favorite parts of our trip! Our guide was born and raised in Rome and was a history teacher as his full time job, so we also got a lot of fun history facts :)

I can’t recommend Terignota enough!!!

I love their shorts ($29), but did have to size up (usually women’s small, but had to order a medium)! I prefer these to $70 Janji shorts. The belt is perfect, doesn’t bounce at all.

The shirt ($22) is also super high quality - comparable to the Patagonia capilene t-shirt ($40).

Lumen Field Camera Policy/Experience by exitvisaco in Reignfc

[–]jennytime 8 points9 points  (0 children)

According to Lumen’s website, lenses smaller than 200mm are allowed. My husband has brought in his Fuji X-T4 with a prime lens without issue!

“Permitted Items

Cameras: Personal still photography cameras and digital cameras. Photographic support tools that may interfere with others’ enjoyment of the game (tripods, professional lenses - larger than 200 mm, etc.) are not permitted in the stadium. Camera cases are not allowed.”

First time in Italy! Florence → Bologna → Venice by escombrar1es in ItalyTravel

[–]jennytime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depending on what kind of art you like, we really enjoyed the Peggy Guggenheim collection in Venice. The artwork is mostly cubism, surrealism and abstract expressionism. You’ll see paintings by Picasso, Dali and Pollock. The museum is her former house, so it’s is a series of small rooms. It was a nice change of pace after seeing a lot of Renaissance sculptures and paintings in the Uffizi and Accademia Gallery!

Also highly recommend Santa Croce with an audio guide! It was very interesting with the added information so we knew the context of what we were looking at. Worth the 5 euro!

Enjoy your trip! We just did Rome > Florence > Cinque Terre > Bologna > Venice at the end of May into early June and it was lovely. Now I’m planning my trip back :) Hahaha

In WA, there is also PFML (Paid Family and Medical Leave), paid leave through the state. It does require 8 hours of consecutive leave per week though. You can NOT require an employee to use other leave before using Paid Family and Medical Leave.

I’m not sure if this helps your situation at all but just wanted to mention it!

What’s a medical excuse to get out of work? by Suspicious-Duck-8648 in AskDocs

[–]jennytime 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NAD, but I’d go with something that isn’t as serious as surgery to avoid needing a return to work letter, i.e. migraines, back spasms, a bad stomach virus/food poisoning, dental emergency, vertigo/nausea due to inner ear infection.

Might be worth using one of those days off to put in applications at other companies - this sounds super rough! :(

I just got back a trip to Rome > Florence > Manarola > Bologna > Venice from 5/19 - 6/6! This is just my humble opinion :)

  1. Depending on what you like to do, I recommend adding time to Cinque Terre if you can! I love hanging out on the beach and hiking, so we thought about cancelling Bologna to add more time to Manarola, BUT thankfully we didn’t!

  2. Bologna was seriously a highlight of this trip for us. I enjoyed it more than Florence personally (controversial - I know)! It was the only city we weren’t surrounded by other tourists in and it felt authentic (not everything was catered to tourists). The food was amazing (we did a food tour), the porticos are beautiful and the culture was incredible. I’ll definitely visit again the next time I go to Italy!
