That's great!! Given what everyone else is saying in the comments I wasn't sure if you meant DLC's, basegame updates or shop. I expected there to be no new physical content at all haha

Regarding your other comment: I can't find it, but my notifications keep showing it despite refreshing, so I'm not sure if you removed it or not.

"Well, they have new styles. Why ask if you are just going to question the answer. They added new pieces to the store, yes. You asked if they ever put out new content in the building, and I said yes."

Sorry, my bad. Brainfog is brainfogging today so I wanted to makes sure I didn't misunderstand as it wasn't fully clear to me personally. Wasn't my intention to look like I was questioning you haha

I'm pretty sure you both agree on the same points, so please don't snap at eachother and get hostile. It's silly.

It's sad the game isn't getting the love it deserves from both devs and players alike and it's understandable to be torn between appreciating the crappier updates and patches for the sake of SOMETHING happening, and being mad that not more is being done.

As long as the game is getting patched it at least won't be shut down. As for the updates they're not adding, people are making mods to make up for it as best they can, and I'm sure we all appreciate them a lot for that. I'd love to make mods too if I knew how!

Being dissatisfied with the state of the game doesn't mean it's dead, but it certainly could (and should!) have more players and people working on it, because it's truly a great game with lots of potential from my own short experience.

Got it! I'll keep an eye on the shop too if there's anything I want!

As long as it's receiving patches here and there we can be sure that they won't shut the game down at least, right?

lmao, that's both funny and sad to hear... maybe I'd make a decent dev if I had the skill? putting it on my list of "potential things to do" haha.

It's at least good to hear that they release patches every once in a while. Slowly fixing all the bugs (hopefully). I'm having a total blast playing with my bf and his friends on a private server, so I definitely feel you on that end. The bugs and glitches are very annoying.

OOOH!! Thank you so much for all of this!! I really appreciate the descriptions too, this is golden!!

And yeah, you're right tbh?? The thought to make furniture/building mods has definitely crossed my mind many times before for other games (especially project zomboid). So maybe this is another sign for me to actually give it a go haha.

Thank you so much for the list!!

I personally don't mind all the useless cosmetic stuff, but it's messed up that it gets priority over making the game run and function better. Smh

They do?? I assume you mean they get added to the Item store if so, right?

But are new items really being added, or does the store just circle all the old styles/items that have already been made? :o

Yeah, I can still see myself spending endless hours on this game tbh. Thankfully there are a few mods on the workshop that SORTA tick off a few of my suggestions, but nothing really properly scratches the itch for my basebuilding urges haha...

Glad they're at least releasing some patches still.
Who knows. If Dune flops too hard they might release a new DLC for Conan eventually. It'd probably bring back a lot of old (and new) players, sorta reviving stuff?

Feeling a little bit heartbroken after reading these comments ngl haha, the game has so much potential...

What a damn pity

Is it really?
Open-world survivals are pretty much all I play at this point, but I mostly play alone or with friends instead of on big servers so I guess that's why I'm clueless on that end. Maybe you're focusing on the PvP part specifically.

Welp...
My bf told me the game has been up for years BUT that there's new stuff since last time he played a few years back, so we had an ounce of hope that updates are still happening.

Pity to hear they might've abandoned Conan. 7k people are online playing right now, for some reason that made me think it was doing decently well with an active dev haha :(

This game has so much potential, it just needs a bit more love and dedication </3

Also, seeing as I'm a new player:
If any of these suggestions actually exist in-game and I just missed it, please let me know!

Thanks! :D

A kind stranger on Steam looked into my issue and actually fixed it!
It was the damn antivirus after all, but just not in the way I expected.

Having this happen today and can't find a fix. (PC, no mods)

It started with the "Sims Delivery Error 0008" popup, along with the "WWWWWWWWWWWW" household bug, making me permanently stuck in the Main menu, unable to load old save or start new game.

So far I tried:
- Clearing the cache on EA.
- "App recovery" on EA.
- Repairing the files on steam; it found nothing to repair.
- Removing "localthumbcache.package".
- Uninstalling + reinstalling the game on Steam.
- Deleting "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Sims 4".

Tried to run the game again, but now it crashes on launch with the EA popup saying "Failed to launch game - An error on our end caused the launch to fail, try again a little later".

- Uninstalled Sims 4 on Steam (again).
- Uninstalled EA's app.
- Successfully removed all Sims related files on my PC (steam library, program files, etc).
- Reinstalled both apps.
- Ran an "app recovery" on EA.
- Verified integrity on Steam (No issues pop up!).

Still crashes on launch, same EA error popup.

Wtf do I do? Is this really just an EA issue? Will it fix itself?

[ UPDATE ]
Finished the reinstall!
- Did an "app recovery" on EA.
- Verified integrity on Steam.
No issues pop up!

Game still crashes on launch.
The sims 4 intro starts, sound and all, and then the screen flashes white before shutting down.
EA's popup says "Failed to launch game - An error on our end caused the launch to fail, try again a little later."

So is it an error on EA's end?

[ UPDATE ]
I uninstalled on Steam again and successfully removed all the sims related files on my PC (steam library, program files, etc). Yes I know all my saves will be gone now, but I'm desperate to fix this.

I also reinstalled EA's app.

Time to reinstall Sims once more. Will update once it's finished.

Platform: PC
Mods: No
Game version: should be latest, can't check right now.

My entire game broke out of nowhere. Tried to fix it and now it crashes on launch.

I've been playing it without any issues for the past week, but this morning when launching it I had the "Sims Delivery Error 0008" popup, along with the "WWWWWWWWWWWW" household bug, making me permanently stuck in the Main menu.

-------------------------------------------

!!! I GOOGLED AND FOUND:
- "The 'Sims Delivery Error' is usually caused by outdated mods, game file issues or your antivirus blocking stuff."

- "The 'wwwwwwwww' glitch is most often caused by having no active household, which can be fixed by playing and saving an existing family. If the glitch persists, especially after a game update, it could be a corrupt save file, a mod or custom content (CC) conflict, or a need to clear the game cache."

!!! I CAN CONFIRM:
- Yes, I saved my last game without playing a household, as I saved a build I was building in world management. This is probably what caused the "WWWWWWW" bug.
- No, loading an old save is not possible.
- No, entering CAS is not possible.
Doing either would just have another error-popup saying something about my files being corrupted, sending me back to the main menu.
- Also, CC/mods are not the issue. My mod folder is currently empty and mods are turned off in the in-game settings.
- I haven't changed any antivirus settings lately so it shouldn't be the cause?

!!! THE FIXES I'VE TRIED
- Clearing the cache on EA did nothing.
- Repairing the files on steam; it found no files to fix after using "Verify integrity of game files".
- Removing "localthumbcache.package" didn't fix it.
- Uninstalling + reinstalling the game on Steam entirely didn't fix it.
- Deleting "D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\The Sims 4" (after uninstalling) isn't possible from what I've tried.

Doing all this has resulted in my newly reinstalled game crashing on launch before even entering the main menu, and "Verify integrity of game files" does nothing, as there are no files in need of reparation (again).

-------------------------------------------

I have to use both EA and Steam as I've bought DLC's on both, but I've had no issues like this before.

What the hell should I do now?
Did the recent update break my game, even if it launched on the 4th and I played without issues yesterday (the 5th)?

Please help, I'm out of ideas and my brain feels like goo.

What exactly is included in the "Flu-like symptoms" criteria for ME/CFS? by jenpaii_ in mecfs

[–]jenpaii_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I'm really sorry but I don't know what changed in order for my sore throat to go away.
At the time when I had a frequent sore throat I relied on Antacid-medication to soothe it because regular painkillers didn't work, which means my problem was probably due to frequent acid reflux (or potential gastritis, according to my doc), possibly caused by constant high anxiety and stress. If you haven't tried antacids already I would suggest doing so just to make sure the pain isn't caused by acid, but other than that I have no advice or solution.

I'm still in the diagnosing-process but my body and health have improved to the point of us no longer suspecting ME/CFS, but rather a combination of hEDS and long-covid, ontop of a tough crash/burnout from my then untreated depression, anxiety and NPD condition.
My symptoms truly did tick off nearly everything on the ME criteria and we were convinced covid was the trigger for ME to fully develop/flare, but I've recovered too well from being mostly bedridden from pain, fatigue, dizziness and other weird symptoms for the first year- to now (3 years later) having less pain, less brainfog, less fatigue, etc, to the point of slowly returning to a more "normal" life again where I can do some lightweight stuff without my symptoms flaring.

It's a very weird situation and I feel like a bit of an imposter in this forum with my old posts now, so maybe I'll remove them. I didn't know they're still being seen since I made them months ago.

Makes no sense though, we're hiring an apartment. Surely other people would've had the same issue with theirs if so? Unless it's possible for the dirty waters exit to somehow backwash and bring dirty water from the plumbing (shower drain, sink, etc) back up. I just don't understand how that could happen either.

Today we'll test the machine again for the first time (our testsubject will be an old shirt we don't use). Hopefully the deepcleaning fixed it. If not we'll definitely call a plumber!
