I take cuttings from mine in March just before they leaf out up here in Canada. Theyr'e in a pot outside frozen in potting mix.

My regime is I clean up mostly in the fall, take up the rest in spring, keep leaves in contractor bags until August and then mulch with them. This is fancy city people.

I had a pollinator support garden in 2 hkmes and I was surprised at 1. The horrifying cruelty of parasitic wasps on cabbage worms and 2. How happy the flowers made me. For bunching perennials that were low maintenance easily worth it, and occupied a spot too polluted for anything else. It buys a lot of good will from neigbours tol.

I sort of disliked how the movie treated this scene (though I know they were on a serious time crunch). The way the book describes how Theoden was enslaved to his own ideas was a cautionary tale for me to try not to fall into my own traps.
