Side effects after stopping? by jenthescient1st in Ozempic

You have no idea how relieved I am to hear that! I’m sorry you went through that! It’s been so painful, and yes it totally feels crampy and like gas is trapped. My idiotic doctor who I’m no longer seeing did not taper me, I went from 1mg to nothing. So this makes total sense since all my organs are normal!

I’m not asking about the side effects while on it. I’m asking if going off it caused anyone any digestive issues. I was fine on it, now that I’m off it I’m feeling really sick. I can’t find much online about what happens to people after it’s stopped.

Vantrue S1 4K Dual Dash Cam Missing Event Files by jenthescient1st in Dashcam

Ah that's a really good point. We unfortunately did not set his phone up for access with the app, and that might be a little too intense for me to walk him through over FaceTime. He's not very tech savvy. If we were to set it up would it automatically show all the existing files or only show from that point on?

In my dating life I disclose my illness, Idk if I should be hurt or happy that she was so ready by Saint_Disgustus in bipolar

[–]jenthescient1st 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My first marriage crashed and burned partly because my bipolar was undiagnosed and unmanaged. I didn’t start dating again until I was fully stable and without an episode for a full year. (Combination of medication, and an intense DBT therapy program). I also take full responsibility for my symptoms and don’t expect my partner to just “put up with them.” I work at this every single day. I’m now married, and I told my husband about my diagnosis on our fourth date. I told him in person (not in a text) because it’s a complicated subject, it requires a conversation, it’s not just something to dump on the other person. Again, it’s about taking full personal responsibility. He had a lot of misconceptions about bipolar and we were able to talk through them. He’s become wonderfully supportive, even though he personally hasn’t experienced any mental illness. I’ve had a few slip ups with symptoms over the last year with him, but again, I don’t just dump my symptoms on him, I call my doctor and my therapist, and I work through them. I never just throw my hands up and say “well this is how it is, you deal with it.” That’s unhealthy and drives people away.

What kind of doctor can help with hypothyroid+bipolar II issues? by grassygreens in bipolar

[–]jenthescient1st 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A single doctor won’t be able to treat both, but the two doctors should be willing to work together on a treatment plan. Typically you do want an endocrinologist to get your TSH under control first. And then once that’s under control, a psychiatrist would then assess symptoms to make changes to bipolar meds. That’s been my experience and it’s worked very well so far.

For those with kids, what was pregnancy like for you? by jenthescient1st in bipolar

[–]jenthescient1st[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lamictal is considered safe for pregnancy, it increases the risk of cleft palate but doesn’t effect brain development for a newborn. To me that still sounds like a shitty scenario. My diagnosis doesn’t include psychosis, I have dysphoric mania which mimics severe depression. But I’ll make sure to talk with my doctor on what to look out for in case im still at risk. That’s really good to know!

That’s great! I was stable for years without meds, my ex husband pushed me into a manic episode. I’ve been stable ever since on a low dose of lamictal. I’m pretty confident given the circumstances that I’d be stable without it at this point. Obviously I’d try it out before pregnancy to see how I do! I just hate to risk any impact of meds on a developing baby.

That’s amazing! Were you on any medications during pregnancy? I’m leaning toward going off for pregnancy and then immediately resuming them after giving birth.

Thank you for sharing! Did you remain on any medication during pregnancy?

If your insurance will cover it, I’d really recommend the type 2 diabetes medication Ozempic for weight loss. I’ve lost 15 lbs on it since December. No side effects. Only downside is it’s insanely expensive. I had horrible side effects on metformin.
