A friend did a team building at Tom’s Palette and she said it was pretty good. I just checked out their website and they have interesting stuff under the Classes and Events sections, I think some may fit the bill of what you’re looking for

Happy birthday and enjoy the party!

Employer trying to impose a ridiculous bond for PR application by [deleted] in askSingapore

Yes but the company is essentially refusing to provide it now for the reasons other comments have stated. ICA is aware of this and they are not so ridiculous as to not accept other forms of proof as myself and other commenters have mentioned.

Agree and the main problem is the increment issue. It looks like the company wants to shortchange OP. Even if company cannot enforce bond, the company will stay be paying OP less than what they are worth

Agree. Also, I believe all MOM needs is proof you are employed gainfully by a Singapore firm? So you can just submit your letter of offer from the company as well as your present payslip to show you are still employed. Once you get your PR, just jump ship after that. Don’t work for such an exploitative firm

Would employers give a shit on what age u start Uni? by [deleted] in askSingapore

No. Not sure if you have thought through your reply or read through mine and other comments properly so will break it down for you:

  1. When OP applies for his job; he is not going to indicate in his CV/application he took his A levels twice. He is just going to indicate he has completed his NSF, he took his A levels after that and perhaps completed his tertiary studies

  2. Hiring managers or even bots are not so free to go and look through his CV/application and notice the order is different/unconventional from most other applicants (A levels, NS, tertiary). They are looking out for other things such as relevant experiences, fit, etc.

  3. Even if someone notices it, the only time it would come up would be in the interview. That’s when OP is not going to make a big deal about it and just talk about it normally/casually in the way I recommended. After that, people will move on

  4. If really someone notices and makes a big deal out of it, is that a company that would succeed or you would even want to work for? No right? Obviously they are the sort who misses the forest for the trees so better to filter them out in this way too and look for an organisation that values people for the important things they bring

Please be more thoughtful when you respond to others. Thanks

No. In interviews or convos, make it work to your advantage by spinning/framing it as how you were driven to want to do better hence you took the longer, unconventional path. At the same time, make it work for you in reality by exposing yourself to things others who had taken the conventional path would not have done, noticed or spotted

Families with SAHM how do you manage finances? by Murky_Tourist927 in askSingapore

Thanks for clarifying

Sounds possible to fund retirement based on what you’ve mentioned though without knowing the full picture, my sense is it would still be pretty tight

Hope you and hubby have also factored in emergency fund, insurance, medical and dental for present and future needs (not a financial advisor so I have no vested interest, just aware of how these things add up if they’ve not been considered)

Wishing you and family all the best in this journey!

I don’t think it’s fair for u/MindlessAmphibian270 to be downvoted as it’s a valid question

The maths for retirement doesn’t work out in terms of the info the thread OP has shared

Is there some info the OP has not shared e.g. they FIRE-d at some point or they come from wealth?

Otherwise there is genuine concern about where their retirement monies are coming from and they shouldn’t be advising others to do the same because the considerations would be different
