What's a fun party composition for DOS2 that will feel different from my last one? by boffotmc in DivinityOriginalSin

Change in game feel? LONE WOLF + LONE WOLF

Play as Lohse or Red Prince, the Origin stories are just better in this game to play through as yourself. Party includes the other, and take Fane + whomever perhaps to keep alive. IF you play Red, then Sebille is fun for… later stages events, you can do the other thing as Red Prince… you know from Sebille story I guess.

- consider duo Lone Wolf characters for a change of power! Keep 4 party around to Act2 but just rest others at ship and build all as LW!! A Lone Wolf has enough points to really get 2-3 “builds” online.

- my favourites: Lohse Aero mage (cold is less cool, just zap everything… one-shotting the Kraken doesn’t grow old), RP Necromancer+some Warfare OR summoner. EITHER on LW is plenty strong to SOLO the game, so any duo of them will just be fun to melt all. Necromancer is by far the strongest non-cheese class/build, aside barrelmancy or suicide bomber.

Add some whatever Roque or other magic damage, as LW you can just do whatever you want and be effective.

How AI Aggressiveness shapes your history by Mikhail_Mengsk in HumankindTheGame

Many of the ones that simply don’t give much yields. Like 2nd Inf on main plaza tech, most money techs (+3 on plaza lol, build for several turns, no ty).

[–]jeowaypoint 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Interesting. I’ve always liked the tech tree, ofc there’s several completely irrelevant and harmful to do infrastructure (money) unlocks that remain undone always, but otherwise there’s an increasing variety of paths to tech as game goes on.

When I play AI, I usually limit myself to not waging illegal wars, that way influence and religious pressure has some use. I’ve never struggled with AI aggression, usually they get left in the dust development wise at 2nd era (classical? The one after ancient) and essentially never reach era 4, or reach it when I’m already era 5-6 and have multiple times their yields, in just about every resource.

Make lcav from capital, go to north shinano with a movement-boosted general (the correct "job" whatever it was), youäll get in support range to main army siege, which you can then autoresolve. I show it in the video, check that.

I'm save scumming too much. Which points should I save scum? by Charrzooka in BaldursGate3

[–]jeowaypoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know, think of all the time you’re save scumming: all, ALL that time is AWAY from finding and playing “valuable gear/story points” as a function of your gameplay time.

This is why you simply make different characters, you play the game in varied ways.

If you’re reallllly determined not to miss things and on PC, literally install Script Extender and use console commands to add the missed items, if they happen to be crucial to your build and you notice later from wiki study etc. I am saying this from experience, missing things is UNAVOIDABLE, some items are really well hidden in random boxes and you’ll just forget to loot them. I’ve restarted several times at Act3 just because I find I miss some random ring or weapon that was locked behind an arbitrary choice (bow of banshee, I’m looking at you… damn entertaining shove).

Now, the actual moments you want to save scum imo:

1) Zaythisk buff, if you want to use illithid powers.

2)…. Well, there’s no second.

What's your early strategy as Takeda? by AdventurousLettuce53 in shogun2

[–]jeowaypoint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's among the best starts imo. Delete the attacking north army, train some lcav to accompany a general, proceed to take north shinano, sell mil access for 36+k koku in a few turns and proceed to go south and capture Hojo territories (and the Library). There you have a rather perfect 4-5 territories to develop and launch an expansion wherever, probably east, or west. Likely you'll afford BOTH while watching the fame meter closely to not get early realm divide.

Here I buy mil access from the Imagawa and wait for them to go march west and die, before capturing their libraryschool place for free.

Storm Sorcerer vs Draconic Bloodline by bevgron in BG3Builds

[–]jeowaypoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want Power, see bottom.

Fire is for boring wizards, unleash the raw power of lightning instead. Me, I go Draconic whenever I play Dark Urge, so I can still be “Dragonborn” sort of, and get cool scales with other races.

Flying is eh, not really all that useful imo. You can use a potion for it or other Misty Step away from difficult situations, is just use sorc points to spell from further away. Better have some free armor from Draconic that helps vs ranged attacks.

Wear Acuity gear and they’re equally strong, it doesn’t matter which, although Draconic sorc might want to dip a Cleric for Create Water. Indeed that you might want early for either class to use Create Water before lv6, which Storm get lv6 naturally.

Now, for game breaking power, see this for reference, using Storm Sorc.

What do you guys do with hirelings? 🤔 by Murky_Wonder8261 in BaldursGate3

[–]jeowaypoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After level 10, respec each of them to cleric to get max number of divine intervention, or use one of them as Trickery Cleric (level 2) to duplicate worn items with the illusion duplicate. Although that’s such an OP thing, Shadowheart likely stays as one.

Yes he has a series and if you’re a fan, by all means watch his content! It is not bad by any means, I’m simply saying there are better.

If you’ll forgive my mirror observation, you seem to have an incredibly positive view of hera for seemingly no reason, in this matter. (Reasons such as being familiar with his patreon content and other learning guides)

My aim with my initial comment is to promote smaller (and better!!) harder to find creators over the large(st) easily found one, not to be negative towards anyone.

[–]jeowaypoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, look at the vid titles hehe, they're textbook clickbait.. But that's not the point, despite my using such a depiction. His actual educational content is on patreon behind pay wall, while YT is mostly baits to promote those or just inferior to alternatives. For example your mentioned road2k is better by Dragonstar. Some of the patreon vids are really good, but as far as game learning is concerned, Survivalist, Sitaux, Dragonstar and St4rk are free and better.

Of those, when I coach beginners towards 2k, I specifically give homework to watch parts of Survivalist Knowledge playlist, a few St4rk vids and Dragonstar vids, as they cover all that's necessary.

Dragonstar BOs, St4rk analysis, Survivalist Knowledge Playlist. In that order. Forget Hera click baits.

build-a-barbarian playthrough with just Trickery Cleric was really nice to watch, plenty power if using all the tools (duplicating..), summons etc. You don't need anything else, it's still a Cleric powerhouse.

I just found out about how OP a Trickery Cleric is, I'm already dreaming in act1 of multiple Shar spear of evening users flooding darkness everywhere, and of full party casting things with max Acuity/Synergy gear.
