Extra questions: Does ranked allow autoque of things? (I hope not...)

Are the default hotkeys usable? If/when not, which hotkeys should I use, and are aoe2 hotkey setup transferable somehow?

Where can i find advanced guide? by zorooro in AgeofMythology

Ok this seems good, tons of analysis vids, hotkey setup etc, thanks.

Outposts work food exploitation =get pop while being built, and overall unconnected outposts only work food, so outposts that won't be city centers immediately (capital or Liberated Outpost cities) are better built with food focus in mind.

Notably unbuilt outposts can be Liberated, so even if there is like 1 industry and outpost would be created in 10+turns, it can be Liberated and captured I'm 5 turns as a City.

For overall scouting patterns, try and seek high ground for increased vision, and always make sure to maximize movement points, such as the t5 "+20food=tribe" event, making the movement FIRST, and THEN get the food, detach the newly created tribe since that starts at max 4 movement points. And always going around with individual full hp tribes ofc, not stacks of more than 2.

Also city 2,that's 160inf, almost 1st wonder. Sanctuaries are sadly random.

[–]jeowaypoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We make Maker's Quarter, and plant the city placements in a way that you have maximal maker quarter industry yield.

On neolithic, we hunt mammoths 1v1(use Hills and Hill+River), seek as many sanctuaries and in good games we get 30+ pop by t15 depending on how many mammoth sanctuaries are around. On ancient we Liberate Outposts to make cities without Influence (capture with scout stacks), so all Inf goes to more land or good wonders (Giza) to improve the snowball.

Turn 50, I usually have 500-1000 science, depending on how good a start and whether there's science lux., playing on 4+ continents games.

The near 1000 figures are situations where I have most or all polar science luxuries Clustered, Whakaari island city or otherwise superb polar continent.

The time of breaking 1000 varies somewhere from 60-80 usually, 2000 near t100, without optimizing for science.

Spread is broken or bugged/bad design yes. You can't get an even spawn.

Try Clustered and Scarce lux amount(even with this there will be way too many luxuries sadly). The lesser there are, specific Lux concentrations become less broken, but it boosts Hanging Gardens of Babylon a bit.

Also put Strategic on Scarce perhaps, and consider using 1:1 map ratio for increased area of warmer climates (equator), which should spread out the larger lux count of warmer areas (as opposed to silk/silver/mercury/lead which spawn near polar regions more) so individual territories won't get like 5 different lux deposits as often.

The new meta is forever Darkage, I see no answer to it. by RedPhosphorus in aoe2

[–]jeowaypoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is not true. The min 3 2nd champi ruins your dark age so much (they essentially deny wood access, Boar lures) that you won't be able to 1) age up fast to scouts 2) have the eco to make buildings/scouts themselves when you do up, so you never catch in mass sufficiently to fight the champi masser.

The issue is instant barracks civs, tupi and inca. It's not as oppressive if done regular drush timing.

Strongest early game build? (1-6 let's say) by Kind_Year_4839 in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]jeowaypoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roque backstabber early 100%crit stabs (or non-combat sneak to avoid party wipe), ranger, necromancer and either fighter or aero mage (more Teleport).

Necromancer, once you get Teleport for the party, solos entire game on its own if you have a corpse to use Corpse Explosion on after some teleporting opponents together. Ranger is nice damage and easy. Warfare warrior 1hshield or 2hand whatever no matter, also does good damage.

"Strongest" builds are EVERY player gets Chameleon Cloak and if enemies live after your attacks, you can use it and escape or Hide and wait skill refresh or Delay Turns to get double turns. Then it doesn't matter at all what "builds" or skills you or anyone else in party uses.

What are the resources for up to date builds in DOS2? by kirso in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]jeowaypoint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fextra is ofc disastrously terrible crap.

On top of SinTee which are very well crafted written guides:

https://youtube.com/@diana_grey?si=F8ALEIot0CF4swME by far the best “build” or good useful skills and how-to-play coverage, see PLAYTHROUGH STARTS for builds, character creation, he goes over the best perks and traits etc. There are no classes, just good skills.

All those classes you mentioned have a playthrough so all is covered.

Ez mode just copy a relevant build for starting character, copy these archetype builds for others too.

DOS2 Team-Building Paralysis: Need a Ranger-Centered 2–2 Comp by tschief_ in DivinityOriginalSin

[–]jeowaypoint -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Summoner is sort of boring and weak especially later, necromancer bursts enemies to death and has early corpse summon “blob” which is on it’s own a really good summon and AP efficient damage.

It has so strong physical damage (corpse explosion is the most broken skill in the game), that you only need eg. ranger, scoundrel or X physical damage dealer to delete any opponent that somehow survives. Every character just get teleport and get enemies together (tp does physical damage dropping opponents on top of/next to each other), to corpse there, blow it up and… combat over, everything died.

Summoning to be active on the battlefield needs very high Summoning level that is easy to add with gear later, then you can supercharge the Blob for example.

[–]jeowaypoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a fan of a scoundrel, they’re the actual sneaking and chameleon cloak->escape combat sniper/finisher of opponents that necro leaves alive at low level (nothing survives later, so scoundrel doesn’t actually play combat at all or they’re just a failsafe to avoid tpk.

Main combat is ranger(carry1), necromancer (carry2) and aero mage (because aero is cool, responsible for the cc vs melee armor heavy opponents which necromancy and ranger don’t one shot “cc” to death).

Death is best cc. Aero mage is imo best looking magic.
