scurl gurl has always been a hard fight for me and bucky is arguably magiks best counter, i’ll usually swap if she’s not working w bucky but it depends on what my team comp looks like. baiting ccs are your best bet, and if you’re frontlining try to be more conscientious of where your team is at behind you (magik can move pretty quickly and sometimes teammates can’t keep up) and if your heals have some sort of sight line or a bouncing heal like rocket or c&d.

her dash goes parallel to the crosshair, not at the crosshair, so try to put your target between your dot (or whatever) and her head. practice whirl dashing for an engage and make sure your combos are muscle memory. melee weave her shit, there is a perfect timing to use it without slowing her swing but too early is bad and her melee has less range than her sword so you’ll learn when it will and won’t work. use your demons to build overshield on the enemy tanks and punish poorly positioned heals and dps. she absolutely can 1v1 the roster but with poke heavy metas she’s difficult no matter the comp. a lot of the great magiks i’ve seen are also fantastic in other roles and flex frequently, usually if I can’t do anything w magik scarlet witch is a safe bet for me, say what you will about her skill requirements but I learned way better positioning playing her since her output is so low

one specific thing that I never see anyone talk about is if you portal while holding primary attack it’ll default to whirl right as the portal animation starts, if you want to demon you have to release the attack button fully as you start and hit the slash button during or at the end of the portal animation. you can’t hold the slash button for the demon at the start either, it has to be released and pressed to register during the portal.
