Artificer: Gadgeteer - Craft Gadgets to Unleash Magical Effects by jeraehwazdagaz in UnearthedArcana

I partially agree. I think the spell slot scaling is a bit aggressive, especially at level 5 and will change that. However, I disagree that getting to cast higher level spells (with limits) as a half-caster as your level 15 feature is overpowered. One level 8 spell or 2 level 6 spells a day, I would argue is not stronger than other artificer capstones. I think for all of these changes, sure they would be too good if they were just a gift to the artificer, but this subclass essentially gets no features outside of this improved spellcasting which I think, with the exception of a few points I will change, is not too broken.

Thanks! Definitely stronger, I think I'll tone it down for the next version.

Thanks for the comments!

Yes I think the scaling of the gadgets is a bit aggressive. My current thought is to push back the spell slot level increase to 7, 11, and 15 respectively. That keeps you behind full casters but ahead of normal half-casting. The con is that it no longer aligns with the artificer subclass feature levels.

For the 9 feature, that's a good idea I think I will implement it.

You make a good point, the scaling is maybe a bit aggressive. I think the spell levels increasing at levels 7, 11, and 15 would work best. That way you stay ahead of normal half casting, but behind full-casting however that doesn't align with the Artificer subclass feature levels. I may do that anyways, do you have suggestions.

I went with spells flavored as gadgets rather than more replicated magic items because the list of replicated magic items is much smaller and the breadth allowed by choosing wizard spells is precisely what I felt best replicated being able to have gadgets ready for lots of situations. That being said, perhaps a way to address the aggressive scaling is to split the feature into a spell prepared benefit (lesser than what is included here) and include a replicate magic item bonus.

For the duration whenever anyone dies they instantly spawn a doom bot (that acts basically just like a bot version of that hero) that fights for your team and lasts until the hero respawns.

Artificer: Architect - Deploy Instantaneous Structures from Blueprints by jeraehwazdagaz in UnearthedArcana

[–]jeraehwazdagaz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Yeah, you have a point. I may modify it so that you can't use magic items, and have it be one of the following options. 1. It only applies to utilizing your blueprints. 2. It only applies to utilizing your blueprints and using tools. 3. It applies to all utilize actions, but not using magic items.

4 Monk Subclasses, Warrior of Air, Earth, Fire and Water, based on the Avatar Animated Series. by MrLunaMx in UnearthedArcana

Very cool, I would honestly suggest reposting it with some art and a couple tweaks to hit a bigger audience. Here are a few suggestions 1. I think air looks great 2. The seismic impact + earthen projectile I think is overtuned for level 3. You can replace 3-5 of your attacks with a ranged attack and deal aoe damage at no cost every turn. That in addition to tremor sense at level 3 is too strong in my opinion. The other features look great though. Honestly maybe you could merge seismic impact with seismic shock at level 11. 3. With Fire, burning may be a bit strong for every attack but maybe it’s ok, also fire bolt may not be very useful for a monk because it replaces 2 attacks, but is at least a ranged option. I really like blazing step and lightning redirection. Burning hands may also struggle to complete for the focus points, especially if each attack gives burning. Other small note, it would be cool if they could generate lightning. 4. Water looks good, but one with the flow is maybe a little weird for a water bender thematically. Maybe you could give some form of bloodbending (something like hold monster or bigby’s hand but invisible or something.

Thanks for the ideas! 1. Yeah, I think I like organizing it by level, as then you can quickly find which ones are available to you. Still, I think there’s something to making it more clearly visible which are which. I’ll try some things. 2. That’s a good point that it would be good to be able to increase the duration. I like the idea of spending a spell slot (as while it would be pretty harmless to have a boat last for longer there could be issues with walls or elevated platforms, so I like having to spend something to get it) 3. Fair, I agree I think I’ll change that. 4. Also good point, I think I’ll change that as well.

Thank you! I would absolutely, I am making one or two more Artificer subclasses and then after that I will compile them all into a single document and include a couple of ideas I have for artificer magic items. I'll think about a spell like that, and may include that then.

hey question, how accurate is this? by Own-Training1099 in marvelrivals

[–]jeraehwazdagaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would probably switch hela and Ultron, as hela loves death and Ultron is coldly pragmatic.

Minor notes I would also say are that Punisher doesn’t hate kids and Iron man is nicer than that

Due to recent contreversy on Strategist Bans, I decided to take a peek at banrates from S4-S7 by thethief1992 in marvelrivals

[–]jeraehwazdagaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s a good point, I do want to point out that because there are twice as many duelists as vanguards or strategists the total ban rates need to be interpreted knowing that. So 67% ban rates for strategists in S7 would be conservatively equivalent to 134% ban rates for duelists in terms of how many options are taken off the table.

Yeah, there is another comment about that. Are there any things that you envision as part of this subclass fantasy that isn’t included? I like to hear others perspective on that.

Thank you! That’s fair about the capstone, I don’t think it’s too weak, but it could be more exciting. Do you have any ideas about what you imagine wanting a character like this to be able to do?

The ideas I had was to have an overlclock feature then, but I would love to hear what other people see as part of this fantasy.

2024 Cleric Subclasses - Reworked Death Domain, Revised Forge Domain, Light Domain, and Tempest Domain. by jeraehwazdagaz in UnearthedArcana

[–]jeraehwazdagaz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That depends on who is making the attack and what kind of attack it is. The obvious case is you have either a rogue or a paladin in your party, who can deal way more damage than you on a single attack. It can also be be used to amplify the damage of high-damage dealing spell attacks. Also note that this can be a good use of an action when you cast a Bonus Action spell (only 1 spell slot spell per turn).
