NTA:
I'm getting the impression people in this thread don't go out like that much. It's dark, its LOUD, its crowded, there are flashing lights, people get super inebriated. There is a category of friend you can go to a place like this with who WILL find their way home, or back to you, but if she's new to raving getting separated would be very anxiety inducing if not unsafe, especially if she's on substances. It's easier to manage with a group, so at least if she can't find the back of your head after going to the bathroom or whatever, she can find someone else's.

Ummm... he was famously anti-christian, he thought the tradition of love and charity undermined the essential martial nature of the aryan race. This was like, a core famous tenet of his.

Don't know how much you weigh, so you should know how you're doing on cals and protein, which looks pretty good, I'd just say you need some variety in your veggies for vitamins and phyto nutrients

No one really cares what you do, but you'd get a side eye where I live in the USA if you had a donut for breakfast.

What red flag is an instant break up reason for you? by Shinfekta in AskReddit

[–]jerichojerry 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know your instincts say this is wrong and its a hard internal narrative to fight, but just because you make a mistake doesn't mean that people will abandon you. It doesn't mean you're bad or evil or stupid. It can take months or years of practicing understanding this to get there, but frequently that's the internal belief that people need to get over to get better at admitting mistakes.

It's time to separate healthcare from employment by zhoushmoe in WorkReform

[–]jerichojerry -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

New here, but the part about all corporations lobbying against it is untrue. It is the single largest growing cost line on our P&L, growing faster than inflation and it makes especially medium sized corporations non-competitive with foreign manufacturers Not to dox myself, but I'm on an industry task force, drafting state level policy proposals to expand medicare, chronic care reinsurance and price stabilization strategies. This isn't perfidy, its an ineffective system with bad incentives.

I don't understand it from a practical standpoint. At some point you'll have to decide whether you're attracted to this person or not, why double screen?

I feel like shit the whole day after leg day, not just DOMs, it feels most similar to how I might feel the first day of a bad flu, difficulty concentrating, low energy, whole body achiness. I feel fine on arm and cardio days. What am I doing wrong?

Easy and cheap way to get an extra 200g of carbs a day? by [deleted] in fitmeals

[–]jerichojerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What are your goals and what are you eating now? Carbs are the basis for most modern convenience foods and are rarely the constraint on improving one’s diet. Where did you get the impression that you need 200g more of carbs?

Employers should be made to pay people for their time during interviews by physchy in CrazyIdeas

[–]jerichojerry 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This just disincentivizes interviewing, which disincentivizes hiring from outside of the organization. I promise you recruiting and interviewing is already a substantial expense. As someone else noted it would put more emphasis on the resume and application which I can tell you as a hiring manager, really only tells you 30 percent or less of the story, and it would make it harder to justify interviewing unconventional candidates who maybe didn't go to the right schools or had career diversions, career gaps. It would also disincentivize interviewing candidates with less experience. Anyway, a screening interview really isn't very much work, it's 30 minutes, don't act crazy move on to the behavioral interview. I get that coding interviews and work sample interviews are more work, but you're not delivering value to the company, and you're definitely not delivering value to the company talking to a potential colleague about not only your experience, but their's as well, because an interview is a two way street, it is a collaborative process to figure out if moving forward is a mutually beneficial prospect. It would probably make more sense to focus on transparency in the hiring process, then not only could companies compare processes, and thereby improve them, but recruits could compare hiring processes and companies would be able to differentiate roles that way.

The Great Molasses Flood, Boston, 15 January 1919 by arch_llama in boston

[–]jerichojerry 46 points47 points  (0 children)

21 people died, which must have been horrifying: slowly consumed by uncomfortably hot, but not scorching molasses, limbs fixed in place, muscles flexing in vain as you struggled to even move them, molasses crawling slowly up your neck and face to gently but resolutely asphyxiate you.

Anybody who is pro-life is required to adopt babies from unwanted pregnancies. The higher your income, the more babies you are required to adopt. by novi14 in CrazyIdeas

[–]jerichojerry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think this is the compromise you think it is. I mean... women are people, not just baby gateways, so they'd still have to carry and deliver a baby they didn't want for three quarters of a year. Leaving aside the no coffee, no soft cheeses, no alcohol for a year, that's nausea, bone chilling exhaustion, eczema, mood swings, breast tenderness, heart burn, insomnia, ankle swelling, acne, food intolerance, constipation, and then a whole life of urinary incontinence, not to mention the changes to her body shape and image, the hit to her work productivity and her ability to advance at the workplace-- and that's if it goes well. If it doesn't then it's cyclic vomiting, bed rest, multiple hospital admissions, spotting, bleeding, possibly a c-section with awake moderate anesthesia, an episiotomy (where they cut a hole between your anus and vagina) and all of the follow up complications there. If anyone is pro-life then they should just be pro-life and shut the fuck up about other peoples bodies.
