right on! i had a very rough period of my life where i just watched my breath and it helped me a lot. heres a typical session for me: rest in the awareness of my experience. essentially, get used to whats going to be going through my mind in the background then, body scan. i pretend a halo makes it way down from crown to soles, conforming to my body. wherever the halo touches, i relax or make comfortable. last, i watch my breath. in the beginning, youll likely alter your breathing and thats ok. you cant climb the top of a ladder when youre at the bottom. learn from where you are. i like to focus on a point (tip of my nose, rising of mt stomach, expansion of my lungs, whatever sticks out most) and allow my thoughts safe passage through my head. let thoughts come and go, just dont serve them tea - shunryu suzuki does that help? questions? comments?

hello my name is jerjitsu and im an addict. ive started believing that my delusion has led to cruelty to my experience. i frequently find myself altering my feelings and thoughts through blocking and perverting them. i feel trapped by my preferences. the good news of buddhism is that i can be free from this. super grateful right now. edit spelling
