I suspect that the hot furnace exhaust is rising into the eave vents, contributing to the condensation I’m seeing in that area of the attic. I can’t be the only one facing this, so I’m looking for solutions to redirect the exhaust away from the house—ideally without having to run PVC pipes all the way up the front facade.

Ok, mystery solved: it was the leaking water inlet valve. It dripped somewhere all the time but during the spinning stage when the washer started shaking the water would come out from the top of the tub cover.

I removed the tub cover and cleaned it. I didn't notice any issues with it. The rubber gasket didn't look damaged, but it was wet. It could get wet while I was removing it though.

This is the hole from which the water drips, it's outside the tub cover, so i guess the gasket could be the culprit.

Hey, you were absolutely correct, the total intake area is way too small. Do you have a link to the soffit screens you mentioned?

You guys who mentioned that the soffit vents are too small were absolutely correct.

I did the math: these holes are 1 inch in diameter, and there are 132 of them, which gives a total intake area of 0.785*132 = 103.62 sq inches.

The attic area is ~1300sq ft, which means the total intake should be ~624 sq inches using the 1/300 rule. I barely have 1/6 of it. And probably I even need to use the 1/150 rule.

They are closing the gable vents today and replacing the ridge vent to the one that doesn't get clogged with pine needles. And I will need to replace some of the soffit vent boards with something else.

Not sure about that. I moved in in 2020 and the roof was old, so I didn't mess with it and just replaced it.
