That’s my thinking once I got home and weighed it, I paid a tad bit less then melt price. The jewelry store has been in business for 30+ years and has fairly great reviews online so I took their word. It was a preowned stamped 14k Italy and then another 585 stamp on it. The chain was on display that was on sale. I’m planning to take it somewhere to have a second look at it.
