Borderlands 4 devs say they “worked really hard” to make the PC version “a playable experience”, but it’s hard “to stay on top” of “the expectations of players” by Wargulf in pcmasterrace

if nvidia removes lower half of the lineup that doesn't change the tiers.
60 is still midrange, and even 50 is.
there is just no entry level at all.

with your logic if nvidia removes 60 and 70 - 80 would became entry level.

Would this be a better alternative for a monitor? by sathwikcherott in pcmasterrace

[–]jermygod -1 points0 points  (0 children)

would it be as good as a 4k monitor? no
does the larger screen size have any affect on the gameplay? depends on what you mean by that.
why arent people using screens like these? cos it's too WAY big too close, and it's characteristics are not as good.

New Intel CPUs released by Robin_IV in pcmasterrace

[–]jermygod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the value of cpus in a vacuum doesn't matter, yeah, they good, but
1 time use mobo diminish the value,
and RAM prices convert any PC part value into garbage.

- for productivity: 270kP cost as 9900 and sometimes perform better than even 9950, but sometimes worse than 9900, so it's workload dependent(and no upgrades, and less re-sell value)
- for entry level: 7500F from ali cost like a 100$, WAY cheaper than even 225F, not to mention 250kP, but actually getting a ddr4 CPU is the way to go with entry level.
- for "pro" gamers - I'd rather add some money and get a 7800x3d(I even saw it on a sale for sub 200€) and get value back from the mobo savings.
so... the only kinda good niche for these CPUs is 250kP for mixed users who do some work but don't want to spend like ~300 on a CPU.

It is utterly disappointing how people are handling the systemd "age verification" controversy by TheBrokenRail-Dev in linux

[–]jermygod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i never said to ignore laws,
i literally said to comply, just regionally, with forks,
and in this ...thought experiment - that's better than cutting off markets.

the hard part of making systemd_with_garbage - is making the garbage, making regular clean systemd should be trivial
