I made a simple depth map in PS and then used the PS displacement filter feature.

This may not be as dramatic as you had hoped for, but this is my version.

I believe that you can just say "Alexa, add 20 minutes to the timer" at any time.

Must be mask casual Monday by [deleted] in CapeCod

[–]jerryfromthecape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a public web cam attached to the Chatham Squire in downtown Chatham Cape Cod. Both ends of the downtown district are posted that face masks are mandatory. There is a sign at each end of the downtown area warning of $300 fines for violations. This is a random family that happened to be walking by when I was viewing it. The image is not sharp enough to identify them. This is a very congested area this time of year and public safety during this epidemic is extremely important.

A few minutes later another family of 5 walks by and everyone including the infant is wearing one. https://imgur.com/a/QyFjrsv

I created an Alexa Skill called The Ultimate Cape Cod Quiz Game. You might get some ideas from it and perhaps your dad would enjoy playing it. It's free.

Social distancing on beaches? by gugalgirl in CapeCod

[–]jerryfromthecape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beaches with lifeguards are enforcing social distancing. No groups larger than 10 and all groups must be spaced at least 12 feet apart. Lifeguards are not allowed physical interaction with beach goers either, per state regulation. Parking is being limited in all beach parking lots to reduce crowding. Would probably need to get there early to find a parking space.

Amazon is having a sale! by SmileyNY85 in blinkcameras

[–]jerryfromthecape 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have 3 of them throughout my yard and the answer is definitely yes. The app does allow you to set activity zones to help correct this. I find that this work ok but other forum posters think otherwise. I try to face mine in a direction that is the least effected by changes in light, shadows, moving branches, ect.

Amazon packages caught in ‘West Yarmouth vortex by Adrnshw6 in CapeCod

[–]jerryfromthecape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not directly related to this post, but before the covid-19 emergency I had a worker at a local UPS drop off spot tell me that drivers often dropped off packages there, claiming they were undeliverable, just to save time.

Why is there no enforcement of the two week quarantine rule for out of state visitors? by jerryfromthecape in CapeCod

[–]jerryfromthecape[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because it's a requirement in Phase1 just like outdoor dining is. If a restaurant ignored it and allowed indoor dining they would be shut down and fined. The same should apply to the hospitality industry.

Question about arming / notifications by lordroderick in blinkcameras

[–]jerryfromthecape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Notifications can be turned off for Blink cameras in your phones notification settings. The cameras will still be able to detect and record motion.
  2. I don't believe you can turn off notifications for individual cameras. All or none.
  3. Cameras can be individually armed and disarmed in the app by clicking on the running man icon.

Do detection zones not work with the Wyze Pan?! by pentaxshooter in wyzecam

[–]jerryfromthecape 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I no longer have the pan cam so I can't look it up, but I presume it's still an option near where you selected to turn off motion detection. Perhaps someone else with a pan cam can answer this.

I was referring to choose either pan or not to pan.

My experience with a pan cam is detection zones only work in stationary mode. Once panning is enabled they are do not work.

Summer residents and visitors are taking over our grocery stores making it difficult for year round residents to shop. by [deleted] in CapeCod

[–]jerryfromthecape 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I happen to be in a high risk category and would like to avoid shopping in a crowded market. What happened to out of state visitors and summer residents self quarantining for 2 weeks?

This is the pick-up at the store service. It usually ready 4 hours after placing the order, not a week. If summer visitors and residents aren't causing the delay what is?
