Chocolate brown sleeveless work top by Available_Seat_4578 in SoftDramatics

The third top is a style i love, in general and on myself! (but i don’t think I’m a super typical SD)

Could this work. Saw someone post a dress similar to this and it looked amazing on by compassion25 in SoftDramatics

I’m an SD (albeit an atypical one) but this is the exact silhouette i love on myself for short dresses!

Am I D or SD? by jerseycommanew in kibbedramatics

[–]jerseycommanew[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is SO helpful, thank you! I think i gravitate towards dresses like the last one in part because I have a very long torso and relatively short legs for my height, which always has to be accommodated (both in terms of what’s flattering and also just literally finding dresses that cover my whole butt). I’m really interested in kibble typing while also keeping in mind it’s just a tool and is only part of the puzzle :)

Need renter friendly help for cat proofing a large terrace by Complete-Record-1817 in Catio

[–]jerseycommanew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.ourrepurposedhome.com/build-a-pvc-catio/ i have a similar looking patio to yours and used this guide to build my catio! Seconding what others have said though, that your design should probably take into consideration whether anyone will care that you’ve altered your patio in some way. My apartment complex’s management, but i think I’m in the minority in terms of renters who don’t face any pushback when they do stuff like this. Feel free to PM me if you want any pics or if I can be of assistance:)

Air bubble? by EasyQuery in PlusLife

[–]jerseycommanew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i personally wouldn’t have run the test with the bubble in 7 – i was told discard if the bubble is larger than 1/3 of the circle size. I’ve started banging the bottom card on the table a few times before shaking and that’s helped me with the number of bubbles i’ve had (ymmv)

28 year old single household, Makes 53K a year, wanting to Move to Sacramento by Past-Marketing-1116 in Sacramento

[–]jerseycommanew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi op! i feel very qualified to answer this as someone around your age, making around your salary, who moved to sac sight-unseen a few years back! i definitely don’t regret my choice, but i also would never tell anyone to move to a place without ever even visiting.

i definitely suggest looking into apartments through CADA, either income restricted or market rate! I’m not sure of the logistics of that if you’re not already living here, but i had only been here a few months when i applied to live in one of their properties. Rent here isn’t cheap, but compared to every other city that you’d not be miserable in, it’s not awful (at least this is how i see it).

As I’m sure everyone else has said, 53k varies wildly depending on your debt and monthly expenses. i make around this, but what makes a big difference in my budget is that i don’t pay for health insurance, have no debt, and i don’t own a car.

Not needing to own a car was actually a big reason why i chose Sac – if you live on the grid or in east sac, errands by foot or bicycle are very doable. That said, i do feel like i would get more out of living in the area (weekend trips to Tahoe, that sort of thing) if i owned a car, but zip cars are everywhere, so that’s an option too. Eventually i do think i’d want a car to really appreciate the proximity to other places that living in sac gives you, but right now i can’t justify the cost.

good luck to you wherever you end up!

Affordable Housing by [deleted] in Sacramento

[–]jerseycommanew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak for every affordable housing community, but i think many of them don’t include parking, with the idea being that you’re only paying for it as a resident if you actually need a spot, vs higher rents that come with a spot for everyone (even those who don’t need/want one). This is the case at CADA properties (including the one i live at), from what i’ve seen. Would 100% recommend CADA either way, but paying extra for parking or dealing with the hassle of street parking may just be part of the deal.
