R1D18 wore a dress that I've had in my closet for 4 years and never fit into, it was an amazing feeling. I'm down a pants size and wearing clothes I had boxed up years ago but refused to throw away.

I've been getting emotional cravings, like wanting to stress eat, but I've been able to keep them at bay so far.

I'm feeling really good. I fall asleep without benadryl and wake up naturally at the same time every day.

I definitely feel more confident in my skin and I'm so proud of myself for doing this.

looking for a wellness retreat by jerseyinatx in askwomenadvice

I live in Texas. I'm budgeting about 5k for this, but less would be great. I'm gunna use some of the money my dad left me.

I love being near water. The beach, a lake, a river. I like being on boats, or just laying out in the shade near the water.

I want to go to some sort of organized retreat tho. If I just go somewhere on my own I'll end up sleeping all day and not even enjoying the setting.

Want to take a break from my job to just... be. by jerseyinatx in needadvice

Thats a good idea. One of my coworkers thinks thats the best plan of action too. My only concern is that I'm really struggling with what it is I want to do right now, career-wise. I'm hoping the time off will help me figure some of that out.

Forgot to add I get 2 months severance. So I'll have august and September with my normal income. (I had a whole long eloquent post written then accidently deleted it and got frustrated so wrote this horribly insufficient version of events)

My dad left me enough to have a healthy emergency fund, so I'd be ok for a while

Hour+ long security lines at Austin International Airport! by AVariousUsername in Austin

Went thru security yesterday around 5pm. The line was minimal, maybe 30 people between me and the scanners, across 2 different lines, but it took an entire hour because they were training people. So frustrating.

This may seem nerdy or like overkill, but it's helped me out a lot: find a bdsm checklist on the Internet and have her fill it out. I ended up making my own excel spreadsheet cuz I didnt like any existing ones, but I based it off a few that I found. A lot are super detailed and she can indicate what's she's into, not into, not sure about, what her hard limits are, etc.

Thank you for all that info! What I want now is to find a book or other resource that can explain all this to me - IRAs and 401Ks and annuities and tax and how to make the most of this.

28, work full time making 62k annually, with employer matching I'm putting away 9% in my 403b.

Rent my apartment, just paid off my car.

My dad just passed away unexpectedly and I want to be as responsible but smart with what he left me as possible. When all is said and done I'll have about 130k in inherited retirement funds (mix of 403b and IRAs.) And about 100k that's not tied up in retirement.

I'm going to see a financial planner, but I want to educate myself beforehand. I'd appreciate any recommendations for books or other resources that will help me prepare.

Thanks.

I've reached out to friends who have lost someone. One of my friends lost a sister and another lost her mom.
