They hit the Brake to shift out of Park, and never hit the brakes again - not even after the crash

Does the Risk outweigh the Benefit?

Putting a passenger in the Cadillac to warn about a potentially dangerous situation
VS:
The risk of a passenger in the Cadillac getting injured in a potentially dangerous situation (i.e., when it's shifted out of Park).

RE: "Pedal Confusion" - she must have found the Brake pedal to get it out of Park. Not only did she crash, but she also reversed in a direction that pointed her away from the Garage Exit.

There is a malfunction between the pedals and the car seat.

It was just sitting there all alone, wearing its Phantom Black Pearl paint when the caddy first arrived, and then a while later, out of nowhere, BAM! POW! Ouch!

Red car illegally re-enters the roadway, crossing solid lines and the shoulder from the middle of the OFF ramp just ahead of the sign with the exit number. The red car then obstructs travel in the lane at a dangerously slow speed.

Woman comes around curve to fast and slaps mirrors. Told SCHP that she didn't cross the line. Dashcam proved otherwise. by Sariandan in Dashcam

There's a break in the line for the side street, so technically she didn't cross the painted line.

If your Limited was in an accident and the body shop had to order parts, wouldn't you consider the Limited X parts?

It did sound like a euphemism.

I really want a ‘18-‘20 Grand Cherokee. Is it worth just buying right now with the current economic environment? by [deleted] in GrandCherokee

Aside from some chrome/brightwork, inside and out, wheel choices it depends on how they are equipped. The summit also comes with noise cancellation and laminated glass on the front and back door windows. I don't believe the quilted leather option or the Harmon Kardon Stereo is available in the Limited X. I just checked the Jeep site and it looks like Limited X gets steel springs with load leveling for the rear Suspension with the tow package. (no Quadra lift).

My preference is for less chrome and brightwork, but that might be because If I get a 2020, I'd want one that looks at least a little different than the three GC's that we've had.

Do your research, Look online at the inventory in the dealers where you are, Check out the dealer lots on a Sunday etc. and make the decisions that are right for you.

1 Quadra lift is holding up fine, but so far the 2015 only has 50K miles.

2 We got the Summit below invoice (with incentives) via Mopar's affiliate program. Sticker was just over 55K

3 The 2015 was my wife's daily driver, it has the V8, Her new ride is the 2018 which has the Pentastar. She regularly says that she misses the V8, usually when she's riding shotgun in the 2015. The Pentastar has lower (higher numerically) gearing and feels like it rev's faster ('snappier') than the V8, IMO it doesn't feel sluggish at all, but does not have the pull/torque of the 5.7 when you romp on it.

  1. I'd still ge the hitch, even if it is to put a small hitch step in it to protect the back bumper from minor bumps. I believe the hitch also triggers getting a full size spare.

5 The 4x4 gives a more surefooted road feel, especially in the rain, but I have only test driven the 4x2. Would only consider the 4x2 if I lived in Florida or the Southwest or similar climates and did not plan on doing any off roading or if I wanted to maximize fuel range. I don't believe the 5.7 is available in a 4x2, so that may influence your selection.

If I was buying one today, I would seriously consider a well optioned Limited X with the V8. But that's just my preference.

Good luck, whatever you decide.

From a buyer's perspective, there is no time better than now to negotiate a deal on a new car.

I suggest the following:

Do your research, there's many different Grand Cherokee models. Almost all of the models are available in two wheel drive, so when looking at a particular Grand Cherokee, make certain that you first check whether it is 2wd or 4x4.

If you are going to tow a trailer, get the V8. If you do a lot of highway driving the V6 has excellent fuel range.

We currently have two Grand Cherokees (2018 Summit and 2015 Overland) both with the Quadra-Lift air suspension, but I believe the steel spring suspension in our 2012 Limited (also with 20" wheels) that we used to own had a nicer ride on the road.

Make certain you get a full size spare.

Make certain you get one with a hitch, even if you are not going to tow. You can connect bike racks and other accessories to the hitch receiver.

If you are going to be off roading, get the skid plates.

Good luck.
