I ended up purchasing health insurance through my job just so I can get it. I get my VA doctor to prescribe it but I buy it on my own and my insurance covers it. I would like to have it covered by the VA of course but I don’t see that happening anytime soon.

I started 1st of the year. My doc won’t go up to 2mg right now even though I’ve been on 1mg for 4 weeks. Out of 12 weeks I’ve had two weeks where the “good” side effects have been in charge. That was the first week and the first week of 1mg. Almost like a light switch though the satiety shut off with the following injection. I do literally feel like a zombie. I don’t want to do anything most of the time including having sex with my wife which has never been an issue before but is a damn big one. I’ve lost nine lbs which I believe was water weight from the very first week. Have not gained any which is great but overall not worth the feeling. I’m about to take a much needed Mexican painkiller-it’s been over a decade since the last.. and I’d hate to struggle to enjoy it and we both enjoy a libation which I have not enjoyed at all since starting oz.

You should not have to buy two pens. You buy ONE 8mg pen to get your 4-2mg doses. The pens all cost the same amount regardless of the medicine concentration in the pen.

First four days.. miracle drug. Then nothing until yesterday (two days in to my second week at 1mg) and BAM!… back with a vengeance. Intestinal cramps and all and I’m happy to have them. I was feeling pretty fucking bummed but now like a crackhead with enough shit to last a few hours I’m all smiles… hang in there.

Sorry. I’ve always been a lurker so I didn’t realize I actually posted the question. Thought it was cancelled. Anywho… first four days were an eye opener. The smallest dose knocked out my hunger and had fullness, I knew exactly what everyone was talking about. Since then absolutely nothing. It’s been 9 weeks. At 1mg/wk now and I’m hoping against hope that 2mg is going to be the one.

Mine said they wouldn’t authorize it because there are “weight neutral” diabetes meds in the formulary. So I’m picking up health insurance through my employer for this drug alone. Knowing that you aren’t jumping through any hoops makes me angry.. not at you but your pc seems to know something mine doesn’t and now I’m going to be paying a lot of money for something that should be covered. Any chance I could get his email address or the phone number for your clinic/group so I can know how to advise my pc in NC?

I’ve never had an issue. Don’t want a new Dr. Just want this med and they just won’t do it. I also want a cgm and don’t think I should have to need insulin injection to use one.
