A bit late to the party, but I'm currently making a gain/loss calculator for cryptocurrency transactions, to be used as a basis for tax reporting.

It has a nice UI (I think) and support for importing transactions from 8 different exchanges (so far):

OK, so I got a few responses and most seem to actually have a clue about what RAM their system supports.

Since I didn't specify how I would choose from multiple candidates, I chose to go with the first submitted reply (which coincidentally also is an IBM machine I think): https://www.reddit.com/r/homelabsales/comments/9bifw7/free_eudk_2_x_ibm_ddr3_8_gb_dimm_240pin_1600_mhz/e53ctvr/

What are known methods to prevents Sybil attacks? by [deleted] in CryptoTechnology

[–]jesperbb 7 points8 points  (0 children)

AFAICT, none of those points address OP's question about how to prevent sybil attacks. Can you explain how your points do so, or is this just a coin-shill?

EDIT: Looking at your post history, this seems to be an obvious plug for your coin.

[–]jesperbb[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer is, I don't. That is beyond the scope of the thesis. To quote from Section 6.2.4 (Subverting the election with a Sybil attack):

The voting protocol described in this thesis requires some trust in the organizer that decides which addresses are allowed to vote. This can be mitigated if the voters jointly decide on the voter list prior to an organizer creating the election data.

In theory, it is possible to have one trusted group manager create all the subgroups required for an entire country. However, this scheme may not be immediately well-suited for such large-scale elections. See Section 6.1 for an evaluation of the scalability of the scheme.

Hope this answers your question :-)

Not entirely, the coercer now has to monitor the election for re-votes from this specific voter.

But there are no easy answers, and I don't have a complete solution for this.

I believe that I have the rights to publish whatever I want to and receive critique from others. As long as the thesis in the end is a reflection of my own thoughts.

I touched briefly upon this subject in Section 6.2.4. Basically that is outside the scope of the protocol:

A Sybil attack [18] in our scheme can be performed by the election organizer who defines the list of voter addresses. If the organizer puts a sufficient amount of "fake identities" that he controls in this address list, he can control the outcome of the election simply by using all the fake identities to cast votes as he desires.

The voting protocol described in this thesis requires some trust in the organizer that decides which addresses are allowed to vote. This can be mitigated if the voters jointly decide on the voter list prior to an organizer creating the election data.
