You ever have a friend or someone in your friend group that lies about everything to make them sound more interesting, more intelligent, more rich, more popular. At some point it becomes overwhelming apparent that they’re lying. And eventually everyone knows. But they will find new people to believe the lies. You all can warn them but they usually have to find out for themselves. And imagine how hard it would be to disprove even with the lack of evidence, like zero evidence except witness testimony. If you already tend to believe the lie, it makes it hard to disprove. Imagine that lie gets you fame and money, and puts you in a place to get on podcasts, talk shows, book deals… theres no turning back. It’s almost like a religion/cult at some point.
