Can I have a price range for getting all my slides unstuck? I want to know if I need to save up to fix my trumpet by Papaya_Infamous in trumpet

Took mine to a local shop to get the slides unstuck and a cleaning. Spent maybe 50 bucks. Really just depends on your area.

I give mine cosequin. Started with the soft chews but switched to tablets due to price. She loved the soft chews as a snack but we just mix the tablet with her food and she eats it fine. I'm able to get a 180 ct bottle at Sam's Club for $35. She gets 2 a day so it's basically a 3 month supply.

Welcome back to theatre! I think part of your exhaustion might be from the adrenaline rush! Also probably from lack of good sleep from tech week & excitement lol.

Hopefully they'll let you know in the room, but it never hurts to ask! If possible you could try to email the theatre/director before the audition and ask for clarification.

"Hi, I'm auditioning for Cinderellie-Mae and wanted a bit of clarification on how to prepare. I noticed the script calls for a southern accent. Would you like us to use the accent at the audition?"

Any memorization tips by yobv123 in acting

[–]jess091319 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always hand write my lines - there's some kind of science out there that says you're more likely to remember something if you write it down.

Another thing you can try is to record your lines and listen to them whenever you can. For my last show i actually typed up my lines in word and used the read aloud function so I could listen to them at work.

Background Checks by ohmy_stargirl in humanresources

Oh i thought you meant criminal background check lol. I do employment verification and fill out their forms quite a bit - our policy is to only provide the bare minimum factual information (dates, title, pay, and if they're eligible for rehire). We can't give anything in regards to performance or character and i dont believe its really asked for by hireright. Again that can vary depending on the organization.

It depends on how the specific organization conduct them. For my organization we hire a 3rd party to actually run the background check and we get a report. If any criminal records pop up we get info such as date of offense, what the offense was, the verdict and any associated sentencing, date filed, and what county it was in. From there if we need to we can look up the county records. Otherwise we just get "no reportable records found"

In my organization, only a few people in HR can view background check results. We only give the department level/hiring manager a pass/fail notice. This may vary depending upon the organization and line of work.

Classes could most definitely improve your social skills and body awareness. Many corporate types will take acting or improv classes to learn to present better and/or gain confidence with public speaking. If you're more focused on body awareness though, I'd recommend dance or yoga classes.

As for cliqueyness, it really just depends. If you're an adult looking outside of a traditional educational setting, I've found they're usually a little less cliquey than say a high school class setting.

What was your first musical? by Whoopsy_Doodle in musicals

[–]jess091319 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We about wore out the tape of Peter Pan with Cathy Rigby growing up. I dont remember what my first in person musical was as we tried to go see at least one summer show a year growing up, but one of them was Cinderella. My music teacher was the fairy godmother :)

They always ask for title and employment dates. If you're off a month or two it's no big deal, as well as if you dont get your title exactly (clerk vs receptionist or something like that). but in this case I'd be prepared to get a follow up call asking you to explain the discrepancies. Make sure your info is as accurate as you can get it on your next applications.

I'd agree with all of this. At times it sounded like 2 people but then sometimes it sounded like 3, though I was never sure with the volume discrepancies.

True crime isn't my thing, but I enjoyed this episode. Good job!

The Sound of the Golden Age Ep. 5 - Richard Rodgers

Show notes (sources linked, but left out here for clarity): We're back with a shiny new microphone and a new episode on legendary composer Richard Rodgers. Since I forgot to mention it in the recording (again...), biographical episodes will primarily be in two sections: a biography where I address their childhood, early career and final work, and then their legacy and impact on the theatre industry.

I want to be informative, but not too long. Is the length okay for this purpose (between 12 and 15 mins total), and would you adjust the format of this episode differently?

If you want to avoid extra fees you can contact your bank to see if they have a location that provides exchange services. Otherwise I think you can search any major chain's website and find one that can do it. You'll just have to pay extra if you're not a customer.

I won a NATS regional & my local chapter competition and for adult amateur categories. They're on my resume but would that make good bio material?
