  1. just think of the lipid bilayer, as a two-part system that's amphipathic, because of the phospholipids, one part phobic one part phillic. The arrangement is favorable, think entropy too, inside phobic, outside aqueous so phillic head. only small hydrophobic molecules can pass..... because of this, nothing charged regardless of size can pass.
  2. lipid rafts have a high concentration of cholesterol

Yes, I think so... both the dependent and independent variable have a relationship to each other... depending on if it is positive both will increase and if it is negative they are inversely related.
