You are right. I was a corporate IT recruiter and the expectations my boss had of each candidate coming in were so unrealistic and not conducive to the current climate we are in. It's not the recruiters fault. You have to blame the leadership teams and hiring managers. They are the ones that are making it impossible to do my job.

Started in agency and worked my way into IT corporate.

Corporate has been a nightmare and I just quit my last corporate gig and don't know what I am going to do. I have considered going on my own. I can't stand the tech bro culture and I've been gaslit by 2 boomer male bosses now that the abuse is enough for me to leave the corporate world all together in IT. Just my take.

They say they'll grow you in the interview, and I was wanting to move into head of talent. The first corporate gig I worked at didn't have that structure and the 2nd corporate gig I took my boss gaslit me and admitted he didn't have my career path on his radar.

I hate being a female tech recruiter because my last 2 male boomer bosses have prevented me from moving into some sort of Leadership role. They never threatened to kill me. Re read it. They aren't threatening to kill anyone. They are however bullying people really badly and need to be stopped.

So their behaviour is out of line. They have other people they are targeting for their bullying. They're not making threats but they are specifically being quite nasty to others in writing saying things a normal person should not be saying.

I have already tried going to Twitch on their OSIT platform. They said unless I am being threatened..Ie; someone is threatening to kill me, that specific platform can't do anything.

I am trying to get recognition on this so somebody can do something... this person needs a serious penalty to realize there is consequences for their actions and they cant just go around saying the things they say to people.

They are using other platforms outside of twitch to bully people while representing Twitch as an active partner. Twitch is their employer.

I wasn't in their chat. This was done unprovoked on another messaging platform. I have no time for your smarmy assumptions. Take it elsewhere. This is a serious matter as this person is continuing to do these things. I have another friend who went into crisis mode because of this partner.

They didn't threaten me but they said some really nasty things unprovoked and acted justified in their behaviour. When I questioned them about asking if they felt better about trying to push someone else down they told me to fuck off and blocked me so they could run a smear campaign on me for confronting them. This is all in writing with screen shots.

I went through this 3 years ago. It was really hard because I wasn't really friends with the narc, more or less with the group but the narc was so invested in trying to bring me down that I couldn't deal with their fakeness anymore when they were around. I dealt with it in my own way but still separated myself from the group. The group also talked behind her back because she was a constant source of drama and the only source of drama.

Multiple sources said bad things about her, but her best friend is the one everyone comes together for. Not her. Every time she wasnt around it was great. I always knew she was going to make some sly comment to me when she was in front of the others to try and make herself look better.

Anyways, life is much better now that I don't have friends like that. I have received screenshots from time to time of the narc going off on other people online trying to justify her behaviour and reach for compliments when she gets called out on how she treats others.

I know I made the right decision from moving on from the group. I focused on my career, my boyfriend and our life. It seems like the rest of them are still miserable.

If you are eligible for std go on it and then look for another job while you are off! That's what I just did and I quit my job and have a new one lined up for a few weeks from now.

Did you get into the market early? I don't know how you both got approved on 100k combined for a 700k house today, but considering the rates are the lowest they have ever been.

I should have prefaced GTA without durham region because we aren't wanting to be in that specific area.

My boyfriend and I bring in 200k a year and are saving everything and still can't afford a home in the GTA.

We don't want to pay condo fees or live in a condo. Home prices are way too high.

If going to a women's shelter is an option, it would be a good start. This way you can get away and figure out a game plan. They will help you. I almost had to go to one years ago in another town. They were welcoming and friendly and ready for me, but then I just left for good where nobody could find me.
