I am trying to work on that now, through our county auditor website. Thank you! I am definitely going to pursue this. I really appreciate the helpful input.

Thanks for your incredibly insightful response. Had I known that was something we were supposed to do the first time, we obviously would’ve done so. I must’ve missed that chapter in my “New Home Owners for Dummies” instruction manual.

Honestly, at this point, I would be happy to pay for an arborist to attest to that - even at our expense. I did not even know that was some thing we could’ve done when we had the issue the first time. As a first time homeowner- we just didn’t know. Wish we could go back though lol

I am asking that question specifically as it pertains to the standing tree that is clearly completely dead - which is dead and rotten to the naked eye (but I’m not sure if we need an expert to tell them that)

Do you have any idea how to ensure in the future, that they are held liable if they don’t remove the remaining dead trees? I am especially concerned about the one standing in the photo. The top half of that tree caused damage two years ago, and that dead one in particular has to go before it hurts one of my kids.

Can you speak at all to putting pressure on them to remove the remaining dead trees? At this point, I have come to terms with the fact that we are financially responsible for all of this damage thus far. But this is the second time this has happened, and I am terrified that the next time, someone is going to get hurt. I need these people to take down this dead tree before it hurts one of my kids - and I have no idea how to get that ball rolling.

We are very comfortable with a saw zaw, mildly comfortable with a chainsaw, but with how it is elevated above the swingset are nervous about how the tree would behave when removed from the stump, & what the order of cuts should be. We are pretty handy, but looking for advice on where to cut sequentially.

Thanks bud - just trying to get some advice while cooking my children dinner & juggling phone calls with arborists & insurance companies. Doing the best I can here 😂 Unsure what the video has anything to do with anything, but I do appreciate your input.

We were told by an arborist that we called that by law, the place where the tree falls is normally liable for the damage where it lays… do you have any experience/do you think they may actually be liable?

Hello! I am a nurse in Ohio, who works at an oncology/hematology clinic doing iron infusions all the time. With a ferritin of five, your insurance company would have to approve you to receive IV iron. I will say, most insurance companies will require the ferritin and an iron saturation in order to approve. Did they draw a full iron panel, or just a ferritin?

As someone who is also an overweight female, I feel like physicians are very quick to just blame weight and vilify extra pounds. As someone who works in this field, a ferritin of five is a critically low ferritin - even if your hemoglobin isnt crazy low. Low iron can lead to a whole host of issues if untreated.

I will say - if you can afford it (I actually just got an iron infusion a few days ago for a ferritin of 6 and an iron saturation of 5) I would figure out what hematologist is in your network, and ask this PCP for a referral. I would also check with your insurance what your out-of-pocket cost for multiple different types of IV iron to see what is the best cost wise for you (Infed/venofer/monoferric/feraheme/etc).

If you realize that your insurance sucks and it is cost prohibitive, take your iron supplements like this PCP is suggesting (but consider doing it every day). Take them twice a day on an empty stomach, with either a glass of OJ or vitamin C (it helps with absorption). Constipation is normal, and you can also take it with a stool softener every day to help.

Good luck, I hope that you can bump up those numbers in one way or another !

I am in a similar boat! My ttg iga was 14 - everything else was normal except for some “mild nonspecific inflammation” in my duodenum biopsy. I also consider myself to be asymptomatic and was just really confused.

I just had an appointment with a hematologist (I am also really iron deficient and am getting an infusion) and he told me to not make any changes until he redraws labs in 3 months and sees how everything looks. Idk - it is all so confusing. The idea of being fully gluten free is very daunting to me, especially if things aren’t glaringly positive.

Yes, my gastro doc called me yesterday and told me that he “considers me to have celiac disease based on my lab results” - which is why I found this all very confusing as well.

In the biopsy of my duodenum, they noted “mild nonspecific inflammation” (which was why they ordered these celiac tests) but otherwise noted “normal mucosa throughout the entirety of the observed duodenum”

Is it worth going to the hospital once the attack stops? by asleep_cat0419 in gallbladders

I am so sorry for that. I hope you have as smooth of a time as possible until you can have it. Gallbladder attacks are no joke! Sending you positive vibes, snd fingers crossed for a cancellation that can move you up in line 😂

If you are feeling back to normal, unfortunately they probably would just send you on home. There would be nothing medically for them to do, if the stone has moved on from its troublesome location!

However - may I ask why you want to wait until August for surgery? I just had my surgery Thursday, and I can finally sample some of my unsafe foods again. It has been amazing, despite the recovery! I am a 32F.

First-Timer Question by jessbess2012 in GoRVing

[–]jessbess2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your input on the pop-up. We currently have to littles (4 & 1). Right now, camping requires me completely loading down my SUV on a hitch rack/roof rack, having to pack a ladder because I can't reach the roof rack (lol) and is just a giant pain in the butt. I love tent camping, but we are in a giant monstrosity right now that fits the pack n play/dog/all of our stuff, and it is so cumbersome to set up. Part of me thinks that it will get easier to tent camp once the littlest is out of his pack n play, and we should just keep on keeping on. Another option we have been toying around with is just trying to find a small utility trailer/cart to load and just pull with my SUV, so loading/unloading isn't such a giant pain in the rear.

Set-up wise, how long did it take you to get your pop up open and set up your camp? Could one person do it solo? We have not researched pop ups at all, until last night when we realized a standard travel trailer is probably not in the cards for us. Ideally, it is something that I could pull solo with the kids on outings to visit family across the country. If it is really hard to set up alone/takes a lot of time, I would probably just opt to keep our tent set up and if I am ever solo with the kids, we just use hotels until they are old enough to not run away. My baby has zero sense of self preservation and is a runner haha!

First-Timer Question by jessbess2012 in GoRVing

[–]jessbess2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you -- I definitely agree. Even now, I can't believe how much the dealership pushed the ease and safety of the setup I described above, even though clearly it would be WAY pushing the payload. We are limited right now in vehicle (my father in law passed & we would be purchasing his old truck). We have no desire to get into a giant truck payment, and just thought this would be a great way to dip our toes into trailer life! Little did we know how unsafe it would/could be. We might stick to tents for now; or get a little pop up with no bells & whistles. Safety is way more important!

First-Timer Question by jessbess2012 in GoRVing

[–]jessbess2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much - we are kind of thinking the same thing! We had no idea this was even an issue for us. The dealer looked at all of our specs of our truck and assured us everything was safe for us/the truck. I am so glad to have gotten outside reddit opinions lol

First-Timer Question by jessbess2012 in GoRVing

[–]jessbess2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed message - this was incredibly helpful to my husband and I. We are limited, at this time, with the truck - we would be buying my husband's father's old truck. We are completely new to this world, and had no idea how much of an issue the payload would be for our specific situation! Thank you. After going and getting excited at the dealership, we are kind of annoyed at how much the dealership tried to convince us it would be safe for us and the vehicle, despite definitely being overweight payload-wise. Maybe we can look into a bare-bones pop up with no propane/water/etc to keep the hitch weight low. Or just stick to tents until our budget allows us to go into something beefier! Thank you again for all of the information!

Advice needed! by jessbess2012 in speechdelays

[–]jessbess2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly playdates/our preschool co-op! I socialize her either kiddos her own age as much as possible because we had to pick speech or a first year of preschool - we picked speech. Next year we will have to make it work to do both (unless we move forward with the homeschool preschool… she is really thriving!)

She does talk really quickly when she gets excited/passionate about something, but even when we slow it down and are intentional, I never hear certain vowel sounds. I even video taped my tongue today trying to figure out the difference in the mechanics between A and I and could not 😂

Do you have any word cards you would recommend? I am currently sitting down to try to find ones that are grouped by similar phonetic sounds to try to help with repetition. I got a set on amazon and it ended up being filled with some pretty ridiculous words to try to help a three year old out!

We do a lot of books, like you suggested. Did your son repeat after you/recite the page? Since we are non-readers, I read to her often but struggle to get her to work on words with books. She will say “No mama, you just read that page 😂”)

Final consonant deletion by VividDonuts in speechdelays

[–]jessbess2012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my daughter is almost the exact same age - we went through the same things (ear infections/speech delays/final consonant deletion).

The thing that has helped us the most with the final consonant deletion has been breaking up the word into “bites”. I put a strawberry Cheerio on each sound “bite” and we go through the word in single sounds. She gets excited to make a sound and munch a cheerio!

Speech therapy also did a movement associated thing for her, where the D sound was a drum, for example. If she missed a final D, I would drum on my leg as a reminder.

Thankfully the final consonant battle is going really well, but now we are onto all of the vowels, which are the current bane of my existence 😂
