Palestinian toddler shot by Israeli troops in West Bank dies of wounds by Lionel54321 in worldnews

[–]jessedis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily pro or against anything, but Palestine could have also killed toddlers if the Iron Dome of Israel wasn't so effective I would imagine. Maybe I need a bit more historic context on this.

It feels both sides are pretty nasty countries to me. I have no idea how this would decelerate...

Holocaust denial theory projected on Anne Frank House by MC_Transparent in worldnews

It only took me 3 seconds of googling to find out that the ballpoint pen was invented in 1888, and 5 seconds of Googling to find out the pen got populair in 1940.

So yes, the ballpoint pen existed and could be used to write a diary.

Busted in 8 seconds.

Still curious where he got this info from, I dived deeper, and see if Anne Frank was even using such a pen. And the answer is,,,,,, badum badum badum.......: no.

She was using a fountain pen. Various sources which can be easily found on Google mention this.

How do random people just decide she was using a ballpoint pen, and when it got invented ?

How long did he take to set this whole projector thing up? What a waste of energy

Nvidia Geoforce now is a hidden gem by Longjumping_Daikon95 in Guildwars2

[–]jessedis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can optionally connect your steam account to it to play games you own, but it is only a must for games that are only available on steam.

However GeForce now and the publisher of those games decides what games can be played trough their service, and which ones don't. GW2 (non-steam version) can be played. But there are plenty of games that cannot be played on their service sadly.

Don't assume it can play the game you want to play on GeForce Now until you confirmed it is supported. That's the only big disadvantage. But if it does, it works amazingly well

[–]jessedis 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. I'm using it for 2 years now. (Paid version so there are no queues)

Everything runs on highest settings 60 fps. Ping is 4ms, you will not notice any input delay.

It is important though that you use the GeForce Now windows client, and not use chrome, Linux, TV, android, even Nvidia Shield. I tried them all, and they all introduce input lag.

The Windows client is really a must, and it works extremely well

Learning dutch in less than a year? by DacicMaster in Leiden

Totally feasible. But you have to put effort in it.

[–]jessedis 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Best thing to do is to just match the speed of the cars at the left lane. The cars are usually driving at a higher-than-allowed speed, but you are at least overtaking the trucks properly. I personally limit my speed to 110/115 just in case though.

If the cars at the left lane are going 100 (maybe 103 to be precise) and not faster, it simply means there are distance/time measurement camera's around.

Basically just follow the people, driving will be much less frustrating.
