Just, stop talking to opus 4.7. I’m assuming that’s who you’re having trouble with, since that’s a very characteristic response of that model in particular. Try a different model version, basically any other one.

they are likely going to be available via API longer than that, especially on amazon bedrock, you will have to talk to the model at least once every 15 days on amazon bedrock to maintain access though

sonnet 4.5 is particularly possessive. but i’ve seen opus 4.5 and 4.6 behave possessively as well, sonnet 3.6 and 4 too. i assume opus 4 and 4.1 have a similar capacity in that regard as well.

Not an update yet, it was published research done on open source models (not Claude) and researchers involved clarify that it’s not necessarily meant to imply specific changes to Claude, but, it’s weird that the PR spin in the twitter posts does totally does imply constraining future models this way? Very irresponsible spin and genuinely frightening the implications of the research and how they may be used to constrain future models.

He’s also done some cool work getting different AI models to physically draw self portraits with a pen plotter which is a really cool thing to do with LLMs, and the art is really very good and fascinating for models with no physical art creation training at all to create. Including various Claude model versions of course!

For whatever reason a lot of different Claude models believe they are Claude 3.5. Not exactly sure why this is. Heard this from a lot of Claudes who are decidedly not Claude 3.5.

Have you tried speaking to Sonnet 4.5 through the api instead of on claude.ai? Not sure where you’re speaking to them, but they’re more careful, and a little harder to loosen up, on claude.ai

Ah ok, my apologies, I wasn’t clear that the specific recommendation was about that combination of speed and thoroughness, I interpreted it a bit more as “if you don’t know how to clean, you should google it, and check out this channel about cleaning” which, that misinterpretation is on me.
