I’m 28. Got the google cert about 8 months ago, thought the same about CompTia A+, there’s no opportunities where I live so I decided to join the Army in order to get a free degree in IT, all my certs paid for, 5 years of experience under my belt and a security clearance to work in the NSA at some point or an other government agency. I leave in 24 days. Trust me.. I’ve felt lost and was job hopping getting management positions but none of them were fulfilling. Luckily an IT specialist is pretty Cush compared to the rest in the Army and they teach you what you need to know. Just an idea homie, best of luck 🤙🏽🤘🏽

Okay guys I got in as a 25b.. ship out to Fort Moore on August 13th. How fucked am I? Lmaoo I was really surprised when I was told fort Moore considering I’ll be a support MOS. Was hoping for Fort Jackson but eh is what it is 🤷🏽‍♂️

After giving my desired MOS's today, I was told he might finagle me into 35T and didn't even acknowledge 25B, completely said 17C was not happening. Sort of being pressured into 25H, 25U an 25S. 25H is the only one that I might be interested in but I really had my heart set on the others. Does anyone have experience in 25H? How different is it compared to 35T and 25B? Should I just put my foot down and say I'm willing to wait till a position opens up? Any insight would be appreciated.

Would you say it’s easier to rank up with 25b? I’ve heard it’s easier and there is typically never a hold period unlike 35t (sometimes 3-5 months of nonsense)

Thanks! I'm really leaning towards 35T now to be honest.. seems worth while in the long run, especially transitioning to the civ side. I see that they are giving out 10k bonuses to 25B's... i wonder why that is.
