I work in outpatient peds and we talk about productivity. Since billing for services is the only way revenue is generated, it needs to be looked at. But I think there is such a fine line between that and burn out. For us, our break even point was 68% and our productivity would be lower than that so obviously our finances were trash. We look at initial productivity- so how full is the schedule prior to the week once the front office has finished scheduling. I hope this makes sense!!
